“hough” in NC is usually pronounced “huff”. Very odd.

That brings to mind Overfelt High School in San Jose — their football team wasn't all that great but there was clearly good reason for their cheerleaders to be 'over-felt' girls.

Seems like every town has a Chinese restaurant named "Yung Ho" or "Yung Ling."

Hough is usually pronounced Huff. I have known people who spelled their names that way.
