Henry Arnold Waxman (born September 12, 1939) is an American politician. He has represented California’s 30th congressional district (map) in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1975. Waxman, a Democrat, is considered to be one of the most influential liberal members of Congress. His district includes much of the western part of the city of Los Angeles, as well as West Hollywood, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Before his election to Congress, he served six years in the California State Assembly.

Waxman is most well known for the annual Democratic retreat at Speaker Pelosi's vineyard where he entertains his party by rooting for truffles. In recent years, Waxman ate so many truffles as he dug them up, the party has had to put a muzzle on his head.
