February 23, 2010 Rush Limbaugh Knocks Glenn Beck; Criticized for "Reparations" Comment
Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is criticizing Fox News host Glenn Beck over Beck's criticisms of the Republican Party at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday.
At that event, Beck said he has "not heard the people in the Republican Party yet admit they have a problem" and said that he doesn't "know what they stand for."
Glenn Beck: GOP Needs to Admit it Has a Problem
"I would not have said that the only people who can stop Obama, Republicans, should be excoriated for being just as bad," Limbaugh said on his radio show (watch at left, via Mediaite). "I don't know how you can say that the Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats. It would never occur to me to say that. I don't know what the objective would be."
The incident is the latest demonstration of Beck's unique position in the political landscape. A hero in the Tea Party movement, he's not shy about criticizing Republicans.
But he has also shown a willingness to break with right-wing orthodoxy, as evidenced by a new interview in which he says he believes global warming is real and thinks a legitimate case can be made that it's been caused by mankind.
Beck even goes so far as to question the connection between the GOP and perhaps its most admired member, telling USA Weekend that "I don't think [Ronald] Reagan was a real Republican."
Back to Limbaugh: The conservative flamethrower is once again angering liberals, this time for casting the health care reform effort as "a civil rights bill" that amounts to "reparations."

If I ever start to believe ANYTHING from CBS, would someone please put a bullet in my empty head.
How that is spun into knocking Beck I have no idea.
I didn't listen to the entire program but I did catch this part so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one scratching my head over the mental gymnastics required to arrive at the headline and article. As an earlier poster put it, there appears to be an effort to cause conservatives to form a circular firing squad in order to clear the field for the Democratics Socialist People's Party. I fully concur with this view...
Gotta be careful. There's not much compelling evidence that this is actually happening. This article is more suited to a supermarket tabloid than it is a legitimate news source.
In his article, he offers no source for Beck's supposed quote on Global Warming, nor Beck's alleged negative comment on Ronald Reagan.
I have personally heard Beck cricitize Algore for his global warming lies and praise Reagan as his hero.
The "author" is full of it. Here's another insinuation from the article, full of buzzwords:
Back to Limbaugh: The conservative flamethrower . . . Who is the "conservative flamethrower" Beck? Limbaugh? The author is ambiguous here, probably on purpose.
. . . is once again angering liberals, this time for casting the health care reform effort as "a civil rights bill" that amounts to "reparations."
Rush (or Beck) is angering liberals here. He is not bashing a fellow conservative host.
I wouldn’t flame you.
I look at it this way. We know who the real Conservatives (and real Conservative voices) are. Others still have yet to fully prove themselves. Still others (and I’m NOT including Beck here) claim to be Conservative when they’re anything but.
It’s the latter group I’m most concerned with as this group still has tremendous influence over the direction of the party.
Thanks, I’ve noticed that FreeRepublic seems to be full of some of these kinds of articles and trolls to go with them.
BECK can be a NUTCASE! He’s on a MISSION to get a THIRD PARTY, which will leave us with DEMOCRATS in CONTROL for as long as we can see!!
Well-stated. Your thoughts echo mine. They — and we here on FR — are going to have differences on certain issues, but most of us agree on the majority of them when it comes to Constitutional and fiscal matters.
We have to pull in the same general direction, not 20 different ones.
I remember reading about the "Yellow Journalism" of the turn of the last century: Hearst prodding us into Cuba; The NY Times "Beat back the Hun" writing of WWI; and thinking how much better we are today. I was in grade school then.
I know realize that yellow journalism has never disappeared it just changed its ideology.
It’s a smear job. Beck has ridiculed the scam of climate change/global warming over and over again on the radio & on TV.
Rush might take his own advice and LISTEN to Beck before passing judgement.
I was raising my hand to say I support health care reform.
Are you in the House or the Senate?
Neither of those elected offices.
I see. Well, I was referring to Republicans who hold federal office. So, which one of the various liberty killing health bills do you support? House, Senate or 0bieWon’s?
One that will allow doctors to practice medicine without having to order unecessary tests simply to avoid lawsuits...for starters.
That would be none of the bills currently under consideration wouldn’t it?
Nope and don't look for it any time soon. Too much money corrupting the system (on both sides) for meaningful correction to come about.
Here is my screed on the bills the Dems are pushing if you're interested in reading it.
