???....Corrections:
Interesting, I was just reading about the Catholic Jesuit Priest who as Commandant @ the Nazi Concentration Camp, Jasenovac, Serbia in Yugoslavia where as many as 700,000 were murdered, mostly Serbian Orthodox Catholics with thousands of Jews and Christians. All this under the aegis of the Nazi Pope at the Vatican!

These atrocities were occurring in predominately Catholic areas, Germany, Poland, Italy, France, etc. He was their leader whose idea is to uphold the beliefs of his Church and followers.
Yes, martyring himself would have been an option to focus attention to a problem he knew was occurring. I know the arguments that open opposition to the Nazi program would have endangered priests and nuns throughout the area, but you have to ask yourself what would St Peter or St Paul have done? It would not have been an unprecedented action.
Imagine the world wide outrage if anything had happened to the Pope.

I can name any number of tragedies occurring in the world today, if you want to attain a higher spiritual level and martyr yourself for one, be my guest.

You’re kidding aren’t you, that the pope should have friggin martyred himself over this?

Once again, there was this little dust up going on called WWII, and the pope was saving hundreds of thousands of Jews and others.

But you’re right, we should be reading taht teh Pope was a great guy who got himself killed over sectarian violence in Croatia

Beautiful world perspective.

Gee I’m sorry, I totally missed your point. Millions of innocent people being massacred all over Catholic Europe..... Darn you are right, trivial matter. Better more important things to tend to if you are the leader of the Church.

Julia Gorin is a failed leftist comic. Her family are Russian communists. Anything that she writes should be understood as an attack against the Catholic church. She's a crypto-communist masquerading as a conservative. Sort of like Frumm, Medved, or Horowitz.

Bush Wanted Photos with Croatian Soldiers

The soldier of the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, led by Mladen Kruljac, were surprised by the fact that Bush shook hands will all 50 of them.

How many religious leaders have martyred themselves in the last 1,000 years??

And you keep pushing this point, the world was at war but you’ve decided the pope should have committed suicide over Croatia. Or whatever you decided he should have martyred himself over.

Did any other Christian or Jewish leaders martyr themselves?

It’s ok, now I know the pope’s sin was that he lived.

What’s interesting is that Orly Taitz, the Queen of the Birthers, has appealed to the UN for protection from the US government. Her lawyer is a guy whose main claim to fame is suing the Vatican bank over these matters.

Catholic means universal. Eastern Orthodox Christians are often called Greek Catholic — as opposed to Roman Catholic.

“How many religious leaders have martyred themselves in the last 1,000 years??”

How many holocausts, where 10’s of millions of people were systematically exterminated, have we had in the last 1000 years?

This is the whole point, this was a once in history event, which required a greater response than was given by the Catholic church, or any church for that matter.

I have yet to read anything leftist written by Julia Gorin. Her family may have come from Russia, but communists come in all nationalities — including Croatian, like Tito. What you were implying was that Gorin, Frumm, Medved and Horowitz are Jewish crypto-communists masquerading as conservatives.

“It happened.”

No, it didn’t.

“Its factual history.”

No, it isn’t.

“Any of these events happening with the least of collaboration of any religion based upon Christ is reprehensible.”

If any of them had happened, then the perpetrators would have been in the wrong. However, an entity does not share in the blame for deeds committed in its name when those acts are done without its knowledge or consent, and most especially when such deeds are contrary to the wishes of that entity.

Were it otherwise, I could commit a crime and make you responsible simply by claiming that you inspired me to do it.
