Juan Williams has absolutely no faith in the 2012 Republican presidential field. He brought a healthy dose of fair and balanced to the FOX News Sunday Panel Plus online-exclusive segment yesterday, where he predicted to his bemused colleagues that, despite their high hopes, if they didnt find a respectable candidate soon, Barack Obama would win reelection in a landslide.
While the rest of the panel Bill Kristol and Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard, NPRs Mara Liasson, and host Chris Wallace shrugged it off with laughter, it was a pretty fearless point to make riding on the heels of one of the most successful CPACs in recent memory and in a year where dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party has fed a massive Tea Party resistance movement and launched Republican Scott Brown from Massachusetts into the Senate.
Williams seemed to have been pushed into making this argument not by the successes of Sarah Palin or propositions that Mitt Romney still has a viable shot at the presidency, but at Kristols suggestion that Texas governor Rick Perry, who has advocated for Texas secession in the not-so-distant past, could make a splash in the presidential pool. While Romney and Mike Huckabee have the traditional advantage of being runners-up from 2008, Kristol argued, Perrys decade in the governors seat would put him in a pretty strong position to run for President.

so true!
Off the top of my head, even newly sworn in Charlie Christie of New Jersey can beat him today, based in this fearless deep cuts in spending alone, as compared to 0bozo’s continuing out of control spending a massive deficits, not to mention, that CNN poll has only 44% of voters would vote to reelect 0bozo, with 52% voting NOT to reelect 0bozo, if elections were being held today.
That's okay, some of us are hard of hearing.
Yeah, I supported Duncan in 2008. I agree, at this time, that the RNC will not present a conservative. The Tea Party Resistance may very well change their minds, at least I hope.
Sarah Plain is “not a chance”. same as Ronald Reagan was “not a chance” back in 1980 when he was running aghinst Jimmy Carter:
Time magazine, Monday, Mar. 31, 1980:
And since G.O.P. Front Runner Ronald Reagan relies upon a base of support that is on the far right wing of the Republican Party, some experts have long declared that if he wins the nomination, the G.O.P. would simply be repeating the suicidal Goldwater campaign
National opinion polls continue to show Carter leading Reagan by an apparently comfortable margin of about 25%. They also show that more moderate Republicans like Ford would run better against the President. This suggests that Reagan is not the strongest G.O.P. choice for the November election and that he clearly faces an uphill battle.
As recently as last month, before Reagans New Hampshire victory, White House advisers looked forward with relish to the possibility of Reagan as their target.
Ex-President Gerald Ford left no doubt about his views when he warned last month: A very conservative Republican cannot win in a national election.

I’m very sorry I don’t know Williams and can steal an easy G off him in a bet.
Obama is a one-term wonder.
How bad is Obama? I could beat him in 2012, and I am a freaking nobody.
Trust me. 2012 will be ABO. Anybody But Obama.
Juan has been gluping the kool-aid again.
Despite some of the things I’ve seen here written about Ol’ Juan being somewhat decent and what-not I never once gave him an ounce of clack. he’s a f’ing stupid liberal through and through and so is Geraldo Rivera.
Juan, Juan, Juan, a mind’s a terrible thing to waste. Quit staring into Zero’s eyes and you may come out of your trance, knucklehead.
Juan...he’s harmless. I truly DO think he means well and is a nice man...he just doesn’t get it. Press Secretary? I think NOT...there hasn’t been a decent one since Ari. However, when Tony Snow took over it was like a beautiful ray of light entered the press room. Then we lost our Tony and he is now in the light. Rest in Peace Tony. You were the best!!! Juan as Press Sec? They would eat him alive out there. Nah...nice man but...put him in the category with that one Prez Bush had early on...the one that looked so scared all the time at the mic and now gibbs? gibbs? A joke and a half for sure. Someone should tell him he is NOT cool as he obviously thinks he is and that each sentence does not beging with UH...UH.
Obama sucks, but I don’t see the GOP inspiring anybody with the likes of Romney, Huckabee, Pawelenty, etc.
I have the feeling that Juan may still be a recovering liberal - barely fair and balanced. His dislike of Limbaugh borders on total hate and he insists on not calling Obama what he is, a Marxist/Socialist. Juan Williams isn’t overly patriotic about his country...his education was pro Socialism and con Capitalism. Mr. Williams may be a kind man but hardly creditable in reporting fact/truth.
I sure do miss Tony Snow.
Unlike Gibbs, Tony knew the difference between humor and sarcasm.
Exactly. Plus...Tony was just a nice guy and not a sarcastic smart aleck.
By allowing these clowns to appear on FOX broadcasts they are given credibility.
