The glaciers have been melting since the end of the last glacial period some 13,000 years ago...
That pretty much sums up my attitude, also. I have an open mind about the situation. What bothers so many people with scientific or technical backgrounds who aren't climate specialists are the sneaky tactics, politicization, and squirrely body language that the proponents are engaging in. Standard, whitebread scientists don't hide their work or bully their compatriots; instead, they put everything forward and challenge their equals to blow it to bits or bleed all over it in red ink if they can. Global warming proponents aren't "colleagues", they've behaved like mau-maus.
In fact, there are some 160,000+ glaciers in the world, most of them in Antarctica, and most of them never visited or measured by humankind. In Antarctica there has been little or no “global warming” during the 30 years of the satellite era, and all of the glaciers are doing just fine, as far as we know. In Greenland, some glaciers are advancing, and some retreating. Temperatures in Greenland are in fact 1-2 Celsius degrees lower today than they were in the late 1930s. The Alpine glaciers, as they recede, reveal medieval mountain passes, forests, and even an entire silver-mine that were there in the medieval warm period but were later covered by ice.
There are no “nails in the coffin”. Yet.
So--what I got from this scientist is that 5200 years ago, the world suffered a dramatic onset of "global cooling".
Obviously brought about by human disregard for the welfare of the planet, right? Never mind that this HAD to have been preceded by a period of global warming!
And then, at the end of the show, NG just HAD TO issue the obligatory dire warnings about how all the melting glaciers and rises in sea-level (caused, of course, by man-made global warming) might just mean the end of the world for us! Can they not see the contradiction their own program reveals? OI!

Measurement accuracy and error bounds are one of the big hidden secrets of the GW Alarmists. Anyone with any sort of background at all in science/engineering who has thought about this for more than 5 minutes realizes what a joke many of these numbers are.
“The glaciers” is the question. Many glaciers have come into existence since the end of the last major glaciation in the current ice age (the one we are still in). Some glaciers have disappeared.
I've read that the other planets have had a small increase in temperatures at about the same time. Perhaps its that gigantic nuclear furnace in the sky rather than some trace vapor, you think?

A serious question for you: Why do you think that?
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who believes the planet is warming had better submit
A: Absolute proof of what the average mean temp of the earth should be so we will know what the base line should be held at.
B: Absolute proof that the planet has actually warmed from this temp and has never gone over that temp in the known history of the planet.
C: In submitting these proofs you cannot leave out the Medieval warming period, it must be included in your proofs, since it did exist.
Those three things are a good start, when you have the proof please submit all of your findings and all data used to reach your conclusions. This data must be verifiable. Thanks for your co-operation.
You usually see that statement relative to more ..human activities...
But these scientists believe in their Models ....
