For a number of weeks now, I have noticed here on Free Republic an increase in the number of posters who say that former Governor Sarah Palin is unelectable. he reasons proffered are usually two fold: First, her resignation as Governor of Alaska forever brands her as a quitter, and the American people will never elect a quitter. Second, she has been so damaged by the hostile MainStream Media, and will be further damaged in another campaign that she can never defeat Barack Obama in a general election. Leaving aside the criticisms of her for the moment (inasmuch as they have been addressed and debated in numerous other posts), I maintain that the 2012 election will be a referendum on Barack Obama. If he has succeeded, he will likely be returned to office. If, on the other hand, he has failed, he will be defeated, in effect fired by the American people. The GOP nominee, whoever that is, will in all probability become the 45th President of the United States. In a word, the GOP nomination will be worth having.
Which begs the question, and I address it specifically to those posters among you who have been quick to point out your perception of Palin's flaws, including and especially her alleged "unelectability": name the potential candidate(s) you believe a) would be a better President; and b) have the political skills and appeal to defeat her in a GOP primary. As the saying goes, you cannot beat something with nothing.
They won’t name anyone. But you can bet that they will once again point something out. And they might also call you names. Stand tough. There’s more of us, then there is of them.
Please ping the Palin list as well as any that are known to be opposed to, or ambivalent toward, her candidacy.
“Which begs the question...”
This is NOT what “begging the question” actually means. Look up “petitio principii.”
I like Mike Pence. I think Pence and Palin would make a formidable ticket in the General Election, and it wouldn’t matter to me which one was at the top of the ticket or which one won the primary.
Great post! Put up or shut up doofusses. Sarah is the ONLY one in position to restore our Republic.
I pinged MadHatter who posted to me on another thread that he thought Jim Demint was to be preferred to Palin. I have nothing really bad to say about Demint, except taht he lacks the political skills to defeat Palin. He is a conservative, as is she.(although why he jumped on Romney’s bandwagon in 2007, I am at a loss to understand). He spent his entire career prior to entering Congress as an market research (advertising) firm, then went into Congress in 1998, served 6 years there and 5 years in the Senate. Zero executive experience.
He is a good man, but dull as dishwater. Palin would clobber him without breaking a sweat.
Stand tough. Theres more of us, then there is of them.

FOR FREAKIN’ SURE !!!
You can’t beat something with nothing. Governor Sarah Palin has an army already and it will grow and grow as Dear Leader FUBARs our country. As you know, I’m committed to raising at least $2 million for her campaign should she decide to run, and there are tens of millions more supporters with much deeper pockets than I have. Do you think there’ll be thousands of people waiting in line in the cold to get Governor Mitt Romney’s new book or Governor Huckabee’s new album?
I agree with you.
Demint needs to stay in the Senate, at least for a bit. He’s doing a good job, and we need more like him to show some of the younger senators that you can be a conservative in Washington.
We need a good team up there.
Pence is a good man. Didn’t he hang back on NY-23 in favor of Scozzafava? Also, he is completely unknown. It would cost him 200 million dollars to get half of Palin’s name recognition. He has no organization or money. He is not credible. He should have challenged Bayh. Going straight from the House to the White House is rare. Hasn’t happened since 1880.
Pence would be a good Veep. I agree with that.
I love Mike Pence but I think Marco Rubio (Spanish surname) would cancel out the Black votes Obama will get. Per the last census, there are more Hispanics in America than there are Blacks.
If the GOP is smart (questionable) they will have a Hispanic on the ticket.
That ping list has been discontinued due to lack of interest.
“Some of you people need to put down the Palin crack pipe.”
Like I said, put up or shut up. You Palin anklebiters can’t run “none of the above.” Put a name up if you dare.
Sarah is the ONLY one in position who can enable US to restore our Republic.
Hey smoothsailing: What’s going on in PA-12, Murtha’s old District? Is it looking good for our team?
