Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organizations California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPACs choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he condemns CPAC. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

You are wrong. Supporting the homosexual agenda means Big Government in practically every facet of life. And all the goverment involved costs money.
I care about children being force fed homosexuality. I care about people being forced to rent to and hire homosexuals when they don’t want to, and homosexuals in the military. And being foster and adoptive parents. I care about lives being ruined.
Less than that, if anything.
Another troll
“In the short term, these tactics are going to seem effective, but ultimately they will force conservatives to get very, very clear about their focus, like coal being pressured into forming a diamond. Only when that happens will there be enough power to bring the country back to its original Constitutional principles.”
That, sir, is an excellent metaphor!
You are right but the GOP likes to take both sides of every issue so that they can pretend that they are open to all views and have a big tent.
All they do is water down any principle that they might have had.
No. I said that i wouldn't reject the vote of people I disagree with. I didn't say I'd agree with them to get their votes. If anything, I'm saying I won't reject the votes of people who prostitute their own moral standards by voting for people who disagree with them.
Yup, noticed it before.
That is an excellent point and worth repeating.
GOProud members (pun intended) know what the GOP and conservatives stand for. That is not a mystery to them. If they are going to silence anyone who stands for traditional marriage, they should go and join the freedom hating Democrats.
By shouting down someone they don't believe in, they are employing thug tactics, and they reveal themselves for what they really are--subversive agents for splitting apart the GOP and conservatives, all in the name of their beloved, pro-gay, anti-marriage agenda.
Because I recognize that the unprecedented increase in government spending which threatens the entire economy is the most pressing issue of the day, and overwhelmingly so?
I think the date is revealing. He may have come to his senses on the issue by 1984. The book is about the 1980 election. Still, the author should have mentioned that R later changed his views. He left me, for one, thinking they had stayed the same. When I find the quotes, it will be clearer. Your reminder that about Proposition 6 will help me to find at least one of them.
You are correct in one sense. My lifestyle makes it highly unlikely that i would interact with gay people. They aren’t likely to be at my church, or among my close friends since we share views about morality that wouldn’t be attractive to gay people.
But I don’t choose who I work with, at college I didn’t choose who was assigned to the dorm. And I didn’t choose who decided to attend our non-denominational singles bible study.
But I didn’t mean to imply that I found interaction with gays burdensome. These obviously weren’t gay activists that would be annoying, within the areas of interaction they were mostly undistinguishable from any other people I dealt with. I also work with people of other religions, I work with people who are cohabitating without marriage. I can maintain congenial professional relationships.
So no, I don’t hate gay people, but I don’t seek out interaction with gay people; mostly I don’t want to know about people’s sex life.
Good for you. I’m glad you recognize that. Now run along and play.
Do you disagree?
Now run along and play.
That's what you and I doing right now.
So you argue that individuals must oppose what is contrary to nature and to God’s laws... Agreed. But then you go on to “construct a wall of separation” between the private individual and the public domain ... That is contradictory and denies the duty we owe not only individually but also collectively to society. The moral imperative to uphold what is good and oppose what is evil.
You cannot separate morality from the public sphere... and especially from politics. For when you do such, you do injury to reason and insult God... He who created both the individual, the Church, and the state. While all may have their appropriate powers and spheres of primary influence, nevertheless they are co-joined in their end purpose, which is to uphold good and restrain evil.
If you argue that a political party must not voice opposition to a moral evil, even though the individuals that make up that party must, by divine design, oppose such evil, then you might as well argue that the body and soul are not intimately joined. Where goes the individual, goes the family, goes the culture, goes the nation. All are interconnected, and the social bonds cannot be severed without giving rise to moral ambiguity and anarchy.
Societies rise and collapse not only through the action and inaction of the individual, but also, and by natural extension, through the fiat of the collective group.
Just as the moral imperative of self defense extends from the individual to the family to the nation, so then does the moral imperative of cultural defense against a known evil.
Don’t waste your well-reasoned breath on an undercover homopervert, fr_freak. FR has been infiltrated by homopervert trolls just as the CPAC convention has; it’s their latest strategy to overrun every private corner of a free society. Referring to someone who disagrees with and condemns homosexuality a “bigot” reveals the height of idiocy in their core philosophy. Thankfully, the homo-troll has been zotted - we shouldn’t have to listen to such bilge.
For Conservatives to win, we do have to condemn homosexuals and their lifestyle every single time it is forced on the country, our families and especially our children.
Condemnation does not equal hate, though many on here and most on the left would like us to think so.
This argument reminds me of a few people on FR who claim to be 100% pro-life, on all issues. Because they hold this position, if a GOP candidate is put forth to them they do not find to be “pro-life enough” they state, in all sincerity, that they will vote for the Dem. Then they get pissed when it is pointed out how incredibly hypocritical they are being.
Yes, Jesus said hate the sin but love the sinner. He didn’t say bring the sinner into your home, allow them to keep sinning, support them in their sin and encourage others to do the same. He said STOP SINNING NOW!
By not condemning in the strongest terms the homosexual agenda and those who are forcing it on us, we are no better than the “pro-life” voter casting a ballot for a Dem. We most certainly go against God and the teachings of His Son.
Some battle can not be won through diplomacy, compromise and being agreeable - this is one of those cases.
All they do is water down any principle that they might have had.
Good job. In two sentences you've distilled the bi-polar problem with the GOP for the last 20 years: "Watered down Principles."
The "Big Tent" appropriately reeks of elephant s***.
Btw, had you noticed if CPAC had given a platform to a satanist dwarf or Islamic porn director?
“Political tags such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.” -—Robert A. Heinlein
