Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organizations California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPACs choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he condemns CPAC. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

I would really appreciate it if you would look that up. I frankly find it unbelievable. However I am willing to consider a well sourced quote and, if it’s found, be corrected.
My philosophy stumbles on that point, because it is right. And it seems that when our nation was founded, that was well understood.
But I also think our form of government, with our constitution, isn't equipped to enforce that level of morality. I think the founders expected the people to do that, through the churches.
I think our government is not suited to ruling a people who have lost their own moral standing. And I don't know if we can successfully use government and laws to dictate morality, even when that morality is key to our survival.
But of course, government's purpose IS to safeguard our survival. Which would suggest that we should legislate morality. And certainly we DO legislate morality, at some level.
Of course, I completely support the idea that government shouldn't SUPPORT any of those things. The question is how forcefully government should be used to oppose or prohibit things.
He was not on stage to talk about homosexual rights or CPAC policy. He was there to talk about ACORN. He tried to co-opt the session and was booed for it. The queers are trying to coopt the rightful booing.
If the government wasn’t involved in private health care, we wouldn’t be using our tax dollars to support the results of homosexual acts — the homosexuals would have to fend for themselves, just like the rest of us.
That is just a horrible shirt.
I’ve had to work with gay people, I had to live around gay people. I’ve had to minister to gay people.

Wow. Good thing you felt forced by your religion, on pain of death, to do all those awful things. Clearly you wouldn’t have if you had your druthers.
Please note this one.
You make the mistake of thinking “Reagan did it, and we can do it again!”
Well those elections were 30 and 25 years ago. It’s not Reagan’s electorate anymore. His electorate came of age in the 40’s and 50’s.
The remarks were made by the author, not by Reagan himself, as I recall. But the book is heavily annotated, so maybe there will be a direct quote in the references.
Do you know any former homosexuals?
I do.
LOL, throwing LussaO overboard now. Me and Dick Cheney both - he supports civil unions.
AMEN.
You are confusing me with someone else. I never mentioned Reagan.
Your support of the homosexual agenda will get you banned, the sooner the better.
And he’s wrong to do so. And wrong to want homosexuals in the military.
I will stick with prayer in most cases. You might find the rare homosexual who might be receptive (poor choice of words LOL) to Christian counseling and cultural reprogramming, but the typical militant homo would be likely to throw urine and feces in your face. If you want to risk that, go for it.
I don’t support the homosexual agenda, Im worried about this crushing debt that’s been saddled on us. That issue is paramount! Next to that, the homo agenda is just a fart in a hurricane.
“Society has always regarded marital love as a sacred expression of the bond between a man and a woman. It is the means by which families are created and society itself is extended into the future. In the Judeo-Christian tradition it is the means by which husband and wife participate with God in the creation of a new human life. It is for these reasons, among others, that our society has always sought to protect this unique relationship. In part the erosion of these values has given way to a celebration of forms of expression most reject. We will resist the efforts of some to obtain government endorsement of homosexuality.—Ronald Reagan, July 12, 1984. “
Unfortunately, he also said this: “Whatever else it is, homosexuality is not a contagious disease like the measles. Prevailing scientific opinion is that an individuals sexuality is determined at a very early age and that a childs teachers do not really influence this., in opposition to “prop 6”, a proposition to ban gays from teaching in schools.
But as others have noted, he might have acted differently had he made that decision today, because today we see that gays ARE like a contageous disease, they ARE trying to use their positions to influence children.
“Reagan: My criticism is that [the gay movement] isnt just asking for civil rights; its asking for recognition and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle which I do not believe society can condone, nor can I.”
Then why are you here propagating it?
CPAC takes a giant step towards Sodom and Gomorrah.
