To: My Favorite Headache
I'm guessing that the the guy probably just saw the bottom line on his 1040, decided to cash in his chips and take some Treasury slobs with him, and torched his house in advance to make sure the Infernal Revenue Service couldn't get one thin dime out of him, even posthumously.

I just did two years tax returns for a guy who’s wife was his bookkeeper for his business... She stole all his money, ran up huge credit card debts, left him for another guy, and now filed for spousal support. He’s facing a huge tax liability for the money she stole from him. And we wonder why people take drastic measures!!!
