Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - Mayor Oscar Goodman has refused an invitation to meet with President Obama when he arrives in town on Thursday. Mayor Goodman called President Obama a slow learner after he told Americans not to blow money on a weekend in Las Vegas if they were saving to put their kids through college.
"I've got other things to do quite frankly for my constituents here in Las Vegas who rely on me to do the right thing as a mayor," explained Mayor Goodman.
Mayor Goodman has more important things like attend budget meetings during a major shortfall than meet with President Barack Obama when he visits Las Vegas Friday, even though he's invited by the White House.
"Were you surprised to get that invitation in light of comments you've made before and your opinion on him and what he says," asked Action News reporter Heather Klein.

Goodman was a former mob attorney, indeed, his opulent law office was nicknamed “The House the Mob Built”, IIRC.

Goodman is a lib which makes it even better! Las Vegas is at the top of the list in foreclosures. The economy there is not good. Hotels are giving rooms away. Anything to get people in there. A five star hotel is closing.
I predict we’ll see more of this. Onada has had his first year honeymoon. During thst time he’s been dissed so many times that those who were reluctant to criticize him for fear of being called racist are emboldened.
Let’s count the times Zero’s been dissed—and all within 12 months:
1. Onadacare. DOA even with dems owning House and Senate.
2. Chicago Olympics. Big international embarrassment.
3. Jobs bill. Doesn’t have the votes for it.
4. Iran.
5. N. Korea.
6. Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
7. Gay marriage.
8. Lost dem governors in VA and PA.
9. Lost Ted Kennedy seat.
10. RI’s Patrick Kennedy retiring.
11. Bayh retiring.
12. Dodd retiring.
13. Reid and Pelosi in fight to retain their seats.
Feel free to add to the list, but you get the point. He’s a disaster. The only thing keeping him from eclipsing Carter’s dismal performance is the absense of a successful terrorist attack on US soil.

Bravo Mr Mayor. TheZero and his henchmen have picked a fight with the wrong dude. The Mayor isn't just talking the talk and he knows how to play hardball. He also changed his party affiliation from dim to Independant last year.

Invitations Mayor Oscar Goodman respectfully or depending on your point of view not so respectfully declines. The mayor says his presence isn’t necessary its more protocol than anything else. However, he says all it will take is a simple phone call and he will be there ready to move on.
