When somebody is unable to deploy for “family” reasons, termination is the first thing on the table. I’ve seen THOUSANDS of soldiers (male and female) who were ETS’d within a month because they didn’t have adequate Family Care Plans (FCPs).
However, these sponges soaked up benefits, training and billets for years before they were needed for warfare.
It’s sort of like paying your car/home insurance for years, and finding out it isn’t there when you need it. That’s far too late.
