In February 2010 this is all pure nonsense.

Agreed.

Who really cares if Palin endorses McCain. It seems ungratious to me if she doesn't. Whatever she does in Arizona won't have any affect on McCain's chances.

I care. If she doesn't have the good sense to avoid endorsing a RINO then it brings her judgment into question in my mind. As for ungracious...as I recall, McCain hasn't been particularly enthusiastic about supporting here, especially when his aids were bashing her as anonymous sources in the press.

She doesn't yet have the nod in 2012. If she gets it and runs against Obama, whi is joe the Plumber going to support? Obama?

Ah, now that's spoke as a true republican. Are you really going to rely on the "our guy is the lesser of two evils" strategy again? I'll promise you this...if the republican party runs a RINO against Obama, I will skip voting. I'm done voting for the lesser of two evils. If the republicans want my independent vote they have to run a viable candidate. And before you try the worn out "then you'll be voting for Obama"...NO, the republicans will be selecting Obama as their candidate the moment they select a RINO to run as a republican presidential candidate. And I believe at this point it'll likely destroy the republican party. I predict that if the republicans run a RINO for president the Tea Party movement will become a political party and start running conservative candidates. That's just a prediction...but will the republicans run a RINO to test it?

Henry Cabot Lodge didn’t endorse Nixon for CA governor in 1962 or for president in 1968, did he?

This is the point that makes pure disconnect out of this article. I can no longer imagine any conservative these days supporting a RINO. If the nation is finished let's end it today and be done with it. I guess I'm as tired as the next person in trying to resuscitate it...or when a hundred people tell us we're dead, maybe we should just lie down.

On the other hand, at this point I don't consider Sarah Palin to be a RINO. I doubt seriously I will consider that until she starts advocating liberalism. I haven't heard her do that up to this point.

I think there may even be a few conservative politicians with a national following if not appeal. I haven't yet seen one who can move massive blocks of voters the way she can.

I still think the argument is premature. There is an extremely compelling event on this side of the horizon to consider first.
