If they are operating off of the coast of San Diego then I undestand why they are undetectable. There is ALWAYS a negative gradient off that coast. All sound waves are bent directly to the bottom. Worst sonar conditions on the planet.
Now, that is interesting. You think that is why all the worry about the sonar harming the whales. The sonar goes to depths that they do?
