Film 'proving Bible true' getting major expansion Moviemakers on eggshells:
WND ^ | Feb 12th, 2010

A film that could potentially verify the historical accuracy of much of the Bible is getting a major expansion, causing its producers to be extra sensitive to modern political concerns and anxious fans to wait even longer for its release.

With a new working title of "The Exodus Conspiracy," the movie was initially targeted for release in the spring of 2007. But, despite about 10 years of work, the producers have not launched it yet because the scope of the project has increased dramatically. But the film's creators, while not wishing to reveal every detail, say the motion picture has grown tremendously, now beginning at the time of Abraham and ending with today's news headlines direct from the Middle East. It even includes appearances by Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We know how hot the real estate is. It's hot," said Pete Windahl, co-producer of "The Exodus Conspiracy." "We've got to be right."

So it’s not really going to prove anything?

A great film I discovered this last year thanks to a Freepers recomendation is;

God Of Wonders

You can’t watch God of Wonders and come away thinking it was still all a cosmic accident.

I think this film is dubious.

This filmmaker has yet to satisfy me that he has in fact discovered anything (ie, lots of talk, but that’s about it).

He claims to have made spectacular discoveries (including the Ark of the Covenant inside a cave) but when I read about this, he had no pictures. Why, if he had found the Ark, wouldn’t he at least produce a photo? Cameras aren’t so large these days that they can’t be lugged into a cave.

Ditto for his discovery of Mt. Sinai and the Exodus route. He may well be correct about the locations of these; but the author of a book about finding Sinai in Arabia lost me when he said he had thrown all his film away for fear of being searched by Saudi police.

So again, where are the pictures?

Yea, when I saw the link was on World Nut Daily my hopes for a great film started sinking.

You were asking ...

How could a film prove the bible to be correct?

Well..., it would be the same way a film on National Geographic shows that something in the natural world has happened in the past (maybe 100,000 years ago or whenever), or in the way the History Channel shows what they've found about an ancient culture (that is no longer around and hardly anyone knows about them), or any other type of film that shows the information and evidence that has been found for one thing or another, in our human history in the past.

It works the same way... :-)

I've always thought it was quite funny and actually peculiar how people will say, "I found out that 'such-and-such' happened, on the History Channel last night!" -- but if you see something about the history of what happened in the Bible, there's always the reaction, like, "How do you know that happened?!"... LOL...

I have to laugh at people when they do that... :-)

They may show evidence that certain events depicted in the Bible are historically accurate, but no human will ever “prove” that Jesus was the Son of God.

You were saying ...

This is Ron Wyatt stuff. Not credible. End of discussion.

Ron Wyatt may have had his detractors, but there are others who are not Ron Wyatt and who have not been associated with him, who also look into the same things, as where the Ark of the Covenant is, where Mt. Sinai is, or where Noah's Ark is and/or what was the route of the Exodus.

Those are all valid things to research, look into and find out as much as one can about them. There are people doing that.

And certainly, anything that one does to research the things that the Bible relates to us that happened in history is worthwhile to search out and find all the information and evidence that one can find. There's nothing wrong with that.

As I said in another post up above, I've always found it to be quite funny how people will comment and talk about one thing or another in a National Geographic show about something in the earth's history or on the History Channel about some ancient culture and showing evidence for something going on or happening -- but the same people will all of a sudden turn into sceptics, the minute it's related to the Bible and it's a piece of evidence for that. They'll be immediate sceptics, when they are not on all these other things they see. They just takes those other shows that present information to them about history and evidence that they are shown..., in perfect stride and never think twice about it... LOL...

How could a film show a man returning from the dead, or sins being forgiven?

I didn't know the film was about that. I read a little bit about the film, but I didn't quite understand that this was what they were trying to show, about the Bible. Is that what they say somewhere?

And, I do understand that the Bible itself does address those things (that you just mentioned), and we could talk about them, in connection with what the Bible says -- it's just that I didn't realize this was what the film was about, too... :-)

Yes, but if there is a Mt. Sinai, that means that G-d gave the 10 Commandments to Moses, that there was an Ark of the Covenant to house the tablets (and a jar of manna and Moses' staff), and that there was a Temple to house the Ark of the Covenant and to be the place from which the High Priest would lead the services commanded by G-d on behalf of the Jewish People.

Sorry, but Islam has already gotten around that. You see the Koran recognizes Moses as a profit the same way it does Jesus. The difference is that they are portrayed as Muslims not Jews and the Jesus of the Koran beard little resemblance to the one we know.

The Muslims are going to love this. They have always insisted that Mt. Sinai is in Saudi Arabia and not the Sinai Peninsula. And here we have a film that agrees with them.

It might very well be in Saudi Arabia, but that wouldn't be a problem for what the Bible says about it. And the problem between what the Bible says -- as compared to -- what the Muslims say, according to the Koran is much, much more than the location of Mt. Sinai.

The location of Mt. Sinai would be a tiny speck of information, compared to the huge gulf of difference between the Bible and the Koran... :-)

That won't make too much difference to the Muslims, I don't think.

Here are some endorsements from various people, in regards to The Exodus Conspiracy film.

"Fascinating, gripping, revealing. This is a must-not-miss for anyone interested in the Middle East."

Jerry B. Jenkins, Best selling author of the Left Behind book series

"The film is extremely timely in view of events taking place in the world today. This is going to be a very powerful project."

Chuck Colson, Founder of BreakPoint and Prison Fellowship Ministries

"A great piece of work that deserves to be a substantial hit... the film is first rate - a riveting, important, substantive and handsomely crafted stunner."

Michael Medved, Film Critic and Radio Talk-Show Host

"THE EXODUS CONSPIRACY is an incredible investigation into the Biblical Exodus of Moses, which runs headlong into a conspiracy to hide the truth of the Bible. This is an exciting combination of science, religion, conspiracy and adventure. From British divers discovering chariot wheels in the Red Sea to the twelve pillars and discussions of the Ark of the Covenant, THE EXODUS CONSPIRACY is a rare look at what may have really been our beginnings."

Howard Kazanjian, Producer of popular films including Raiders of the Lost Ark

"I think the film effectively expresses an immensely persuasive and powerful message while being modestly restrained. This eloquent case for the Exodus is made compelling through scientific research and academic credibility. It captures one's interest from the opening credits and doesn't relinquish audience attention until the screen goes dark. I do believe taht this movie should be shown in all religious schools both Jewish and Christian. I do think this movie is genuinely important."

Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Foundere of American Alliance of Jews & Christians (AAJC), nationally acclaimed speaker and best-selling author

"The Exodus Conspiracy is a masterful weave of scientific inquiry with bibilical history. The film's approach of presenting the data without forcing on the viewer the need to accept or reject any preconceived conclusions is simply good science. To paraphrase the philosophy of Socrates, one goes to where the truth leads. Having seen the film and having met with the principals who actually conducted the research, I am convinced that the information presented, much of which is startling, is valid. And for me the truth leads to only one conclusion: the biblical account of the Exodus actually accurred. In the past, we have been looking in the wrong place for the evidence. Unfortunately much of the evidence lies within the borders of two countries in the Middle Est, who have a vested interest in denying the Exodus. As such they are active in concealing or destroying the evidence. A must see."

Gerald Schroeder, MIT Nuclear Physicist, author, and noted lecturer

As a scientist and student of Torah, I watched the Exodus Conspiracy film with fascination and great interest. This evocative film opens the door for some groundbreaking scientific and spiritual debate on the great questions. Did G-d perform the miracles as recorded in the Torah/Bible at the crossing of the sea? Does G-d have a covenant relationship with the Jewish people? These are the thoughts that have haunted me since my transformation from a secular scientist to a Torah Jew (viewing this incredible film served to reinforce these thoughts). There does indeed appear to be a pattern of evidence that supports the biblical text. I hope that there will be a worldwide call to further investigate these issues - if only the associated governments will allow the world's scientists to do so.

In my opinion, the producers have gone to great lengths in their eight years of research. They lay out a very compelling claim - almost like a court case - - without being declarative, as they allow the viewer to weigh the truth for themselves. Top scientists, historians, archaeologists, politicians and spiritual leaders are connected to the making of this film. Although the film provides answers to a number of puzzling aspects of the biblical text (such as the topography and geology at the west bank of the crossing) it also raises new questions for future study and analysis. It should appeal to the skeptical, "prove it to me" crowd as well as to the religious communities of Jews, Christians, and followers of other religions. In addition to being a thinking persons film, it is also great entertainment.

Dr. David Medved - PhD, Physics

"This film is as significant as Shindler's List. In fact, it might be the most significant film in history. The Exodus Conspriacy shows the very real conflict between good and evil. It might even begin to end the 2,000 year old conflict between Christians and Jews. It will certainly leave you thinking. Through science, the film answer how it happened. All of us will now have to grapple with why it happened, and this makes the Bible relevant."

Rabbi Manis Friedman, world-renowned author, counselor, lecturer and philosopher, and co-founder of Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies in Minnesota.

The Exodus Conspiracy Blog - Interview with Benjamin Netanyahu

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Netanyahu Israel’s New Prime Minister

The fluidity of the issues and characters involved in The Exodus Conspiracy can be seen in the fact that when we interviewed Benjamin Netanyahu for the film, he was a former prime minister of Israel. Since March 31st, 2009 when he was sworn into office, he is currently the new prime minister. The film now includes both the sitting prime minister and president of Israel (Shimon Peres.) The themes in The Exodus Conspiracy do not just deal with a 3500-year-old story but they confront issues that lie at the heart of turmoil in modern-day religion, culture, philosophy and international relations.

Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu is the first Israeli prime minister born after the founding of the modern state of Israel in 1948. He was born in Tel Aviv but moved to the U.S.A. when he was 15 and went to high school near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was previously the country's prime minister from June 1996 to July 1999 as well as the foreign minister (2002-2003) and finance minister (2003-2005.) Following Israel's parliamentary elections on February 10th, 2009, Netanyahu’s Likud party came in second place but right wing parties won a majority allowing Netanyahu to form a coalition government. What follows are portions of our interview with him from April of 2007.

TIM: When did you first hear about the story of the Exodus?

BN: With my mother’s milk I think. I mean every Jewish child absorbs that story and it’s a formative one. The stories in the Bible are the most powerful narrative stories ever told. It’s not a coincidence that this book has held the imagination of mankind for thousands of years, because the stories are remarkable. The story of Joseph and his brothers, the story of the Exodus from Egypt, the story of Moses and the tablets – they are just remarkable stories. They fire a child’s imagination. They certainly did fire my imagination from a very, very early age.

TIM: In the Bible story, Joseph was hated by his brothers so much that they tried to kill him and they were going to throw him into a pit and eventually he got sold into slavery. But little did they realize that if they killed Joseph they would have been cutting their own throats.

BN: Well, it took them a while to discover that. The story of Joseph’s revelation to his brothers has got to be one of the most dramatic stories ever told. I read and re-read it periodically and it’s so powerful and so vivid and so detailed that you know that it happened.

TIM: Tell me about the affect the Exodus has had upon civilizations in the last 3,000 years.

BN: Moses was the greatest revolutionary of all time. Remember that in antiquity, there were grand empires that were based on one principle and that is slavery. And Moses challenged that twice. He challenged it by taking his people who were slaves in bondage in Egypt and freed them and took them to their Promised Land. But he also challenged it by providing a moral code for mankind that said that it is not the king or the emperor that decides the law, there is a higher law. And that higher law means respect for your fellow man and it also means that you have to be free. One of the reasons that Judaism didn’t make its way so rapidly and didn’t spread in the ancient world is that its premise, it’s conception, is that you have to be a free man and not a slave, to espouse Judaism. Now these were absolutely revolutionary ideas. And it’s the combination of the physical freedom; physically freeing the slaves from Egypt, but also ennobling them to a higher code of personal dignity, respect for your fellow man and personal freedom that was so at odds with the ancient world. And this shone a light and that light progressively expanded and reached larger and larger sections of humanity until it became the dominant code by which we live, or we at least aspire to live.

– Tim Mahoney, Director of The Exodus Conspiracy

You were saying ...

They may show evidence that certain events depicted in the Bible are historically accurate, but no human will ever “prove” that Jesus was the Son of God.

Well..., when you consider that people are put to death for murder on the basis of "proving a case" in a court of law, sometimes without any eyewitnesses and without a confession from the killer, you can understand some pretty serious things can be "proven" without you, or anyone else, needing to see something directly in front of your face, before it's proven... :-)

It's done in a court of law by different kinds of testimony given by witnesses as to different facts and aspects of the case and what happened at one place and what was said at another place and how someone acted and so on (even if no one saw the murder). And there is an assembling of the "evidence" that makes up the necessary facts for the jurors to see and understand.

And we know that people are convicted (i.e., "it is proven" in a court of law) that the person did kill the person they are charged with killing.

Now, if people can regularly be put to death on the basis of this kind of evidence and witness testimony -- I think it also can be "proven" in the same manner -- that Jesus is the Son of God.

And once again, if we accept it as "proven" -- enough to actually kill someone (as a murderer) -- then we can certainly prove in the like manner that Jesus is the Son of God.
