Yes, he looks much older. He’s a wreck.
The two Republicans who won the House seats in RI in the modern era did so because they ran against damaged or weak incumbent Democrats. Claudine Schneider took out Ed Beard in ‘80 and Ron Machtley took out the scandal-tarred Fast Freddie St. Germain in ‘88. Even in the great year of ‘94 when Machtley vacated it to run for Governor, we couldn’t hold it, and none other than Patches himself won.
Let’s see how this plays out.
I still maintain Buddy wins the seat no matter who runs against him.
I’d really like to see Kennedys internal polling, he must have been looking at a 15%+ blow out.

I really doubt that he did anything other than than to duck and run. My guess is, he doesn’t need to do it anymore since uncle Ted is dead.

His approvals were in the 30s, so that was likely how he would perform. I’ve seen no data showing what Cianci would get, and he hasn’t even officially declared. Loughlin has, and is a serious candidate, but now he’s got a real problem, because he was counting on running against the runt. I hope I didn’t just recommend FReepers piss their money away on a candidate who may lose in a landslide absent Patches. :-(
