TIFTON, GA (WALB) –An unusual case of animal cruelty in Tift County. Someone shot a cat with an arrow. The family thinks someone in their neighborhood is responsible. They hope whoever did it will admit it.

Meet Tom, the five year old family cat with a whole lot of personality, and a whole lot of strength.

"He's got the exit wound and entry wound where that arrow was lodged in him," said Dr. Branch.

For being able to survive a cruel and unnecessary act, that could have taken his life.

I have one automobile that stays outside, but while some people complain about tiny little housecats on their property, this is a sight that isn't exactly a rare occurrence:

Now seriously, *housecats* they're worried about?

Housecats, yet. Sheesh.

No, I did see the sarcasm tag and would of agreed with the statement without the sarc tag.

then some want to kill a person over a cat?

F**k with my cats and I'll help that individual's passage to the afterlife.

well, we have plenty of cats. All live outside just like the rest of the animals. wouldn’t allow a cat in my house.

No, he wasn’t a feral and was neutered. Is that the question they should answer before they are shot? And I grew up eating dove and quail, thanks much. Never had any problems with ‘population’ growing up in the 70’s. Soooo that justifies shooting someone’s cat?

Mine, except one, spends most of their time in the garage.

I love cats, but I'm not a big fan of cat hair. Even with one inside I constantly have to vacuum.

In reality, most cats lose interest in seriously trying to catch birds by the time they’re 2-3 years old, at least if they’re well-fed. Since my cats have on average lived to their late teens (two have topped 20), there’s very little need for the bells. The youngest of my current four is now about 5 years old. She’s still got her bell (the only one of my cats that has one now), but it’s long since outlived its usefulness. She’s built like a beach ball now, and couldn’t catch a bird unless it was already dead or mortally wounded when she caught sight of it. She gets even heavier in the winter, and can barely jump up onto the counter where her beloved Fancy Feast is served — has ended up suspended from her shoulders a couple of times before falling off. It’s pretty funny. Too bad the birds aren’t inside to see it :-)

Nice photo,,, you don't get it,,, when your brand new car gets pissed on and scratched by the neighbors cats and smells to high heaven for days and damages the paint, wakes you up a 1am screaming under your window and you have to go to work and you can't get back to sleep....it ain't just a cute little kitty anymore, its a pest! Get it! Keep Kitty at HOME!

yeah, we watched an old friend the other day (stroke victim)while his wife went to the doctor. got their inside dog to. we ended up throwing it in the tub and giving it a bath. my wife don’t mind taking care of folks, but stinky shedding dogs that keep trying to jump up on the furniture was raising her blood pressure. She said, “dog, you’re getting a bath wether you like it or not”

So was this a 'fluke' or a deliberate attack?

Could be a dumb kid or a nut case with a bird feeder. Either way, if caught they should have an arrow fired from their bow directly into their butt cheek. That'll teach em!

Cool, I see many of you have complete apathy towards the killing an animal for the fun of it.

I guess I balance it out with my complete lack of care when some welfare case aborts a future parasite.

When I was ten, some neighbor boys were target shooting - with steel tipped deer arrows. One missed it's target - but got me - in the leg.

It went clear to and into the bone.

At the moment, it didn't seem to hurt. In a reflex move, I reached down and pulled it out...and it didn't look bad - just a round hole.

Than, all of a sudden, blood started pumping out like a faucet.

That did it. I started howling. My step dad came and got me. Unfortunately, he was a Christian Scientist and didn't believe in doctors...so no stitches, no antibiotics.

Fortunately, it didn't get infected but he had to carry me everywhere for 2 weeks as I couldn't walk on it.

I still have the soft round impression in my leg.
