TIFTON, GA (WALB) –An unusual case of animal cruelty in Tift County. Someone shot a cat with an arrow. The family thinks someone in their neighborhood is responsible. They hope whoever did it will admit it.
Meet Tom, the five year old family cat with a whole lot of personality, and a whole lot of strength.
"He's got the exit wound and entry wound where that arrow was lodged in him," said Dr. Branch.
For being able to survive a cruel and unnecessary act, that could have taken his life.

With that being said, if it was my cat (and I have a cat which chooses not to leave my house nor would I allow it) and it was shot like this, I would hunt the fool down and deliver an ass kicking that he would remember for the rest of his life. And every time he looked in the mirror he would be reminded of me............
same thing we do.
Keep your pets at home, fixed, and we will not have to read any more of these stories.
Thank you.
No pun intended with this ping.
If it wasn’t an accident, they should have just called animal control.
Roaming cats annoy me, they bother my dogs who I keep in the house/yard—not roaming the neighborhood.
Cats poop in the flower beds and spray.
I’m sorry the cat was hurt but I think the owners are to blame too—for letting their animal roam free.
The cat has black and white markings, not pure black. I am familiar with certain misguided individuals that sacrifice cats. And white trash presupposes that all misguided individuals that sacrifice cats are white in skin tone (thinking Haitians off the top of my head).
Don’t know what you mean about good track records?
While this is indeed unfortunate, it seems that many cat “owners” allow their cats to roam. Don’t cat “owners” have any respect for the poor songbirds that their cats tend to kill? How insensitive is that?
hope we don’t see a picture of you on here with an arrow through your ribs. how would you plan on getting the person to your property? or would you boldly go on their land (probably like the cat) and deal out this viciousness?
So far, I've purchased one of those air soft plastic bb guns,,, good out to about 20 yards, and I'm having a ball.
I'm considering one of those paint ball guns so the cat can go home with a big yellow blotch on its side :-)
Hope they catch the jackass and throw him in jail.
that’s a great idea. just make sure you don’t miss and hit the car, those things make a nasty mess.
Followed by a PET scan.
A family member once had a bale of hay set up to target shoot his archery stuff.
One arrow flew over the bale and killed a chicken in the neighbors yard.
Pure accident.
“Im sorry the cat was hurt but I think the owners are to blame too.”
That’s my sentiment as well. However, I WAS sad to see a dead coyote in the road that heads into our neighborhood.
So sad. Had a beautiful, gray tabby who used to roam the Wildlife Refuge that our home backed up to. He came home one day with a huge, circular gash out of his shoulder. He survived....but the vet said it was caused by a ‘4-point razor’ arrow. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE and grew up in a family of hunters.....but this is just sick.
What kind of person do you think shoots a housecat with a bow and arrow?
the rest is yadda yadda. all due respect.
OKAY! i confess! I DID IT! I DID IT! not.
When does the season open for cats?
You need to research how much damage feral cats are doing to wildlife in many areas. Was this cat you refer to spade or neutered?
