Most voters believe we are living in broken Britain, according to a poll.
Nearly three fifths say they hardly recognise the country they are living in and are deeply pessimistic about the state of Britain today.
The survey shows that 70 per cent believe that society is now broken and 68 per cent believe people who play by the rules get a raw deal.
Many say they are worried by the pace of social change and 42 per cent admit they would like to emigrate, the Populus poll for the Times found.
Women, working-class people and Tory voters were more likely to say that they hardly recognise their own country.
Overall, 64 per cent think that Britain is going in the wrong direction and just 31 per cent believe it is on the right track.
This is a widely used measure of mood in the U.S., where 57 per cent of people think America is going wrong and 37 per cent believe it is on the right track.

It’s not much better in the USA. If they come here and vote for dems, the USA will become just as hopeless as Britain.

It probably started when the British public voted out Winston Churchill in 1945. Then throughout the 1940's and 1950's Britain decided to dismantle the Empire and create the modern welfare state in all it' vulgarity. The Labour Party was the chief architect of this ill fated policy. Liberalism became the unofficial religion of Britain as the Churches emptied out. The die was cast.
Then the morons of society opened to door to mass immigration to people who could never assimilate into British society. This was truly the nail in the coffin. All of the wounds have been self inflicted. The radical labour unions were a huge part of the whole decline. Add in the pencil necks at Oxford, Cambridge, and most of all the BBC and you have the recipe for complete disaster.
It's almost as though all the sacrifice made in lives during WW2 to save British Civilization was completely thrown away. Liberalism was the Cancer that destroyed this great nation that has given the world so much. Great Britain didn't need to shoulder the responsibility for world affairs that burdened it before WW2. The United States took over from Great Britain sometime during the war. Yes all of the wounds have been self inflicted. I don't think Great Britain can make it but here's wishing them the best of luck. they will need it. It will be a miracle if even the US can survive.
You know Hitler in his bunker, when he knew that Germany had lost the war, use to say that Britain and the United States would destroy themselves in less than 50 years. He may have been off in his timetable but history may be proving him right.

Nothing here another Iron Lady couldn’t set right. But where is that leader? Not Cameron, that’s for sure.

Don’t emigrate. Remember your glorious past: Kick their asses. You can do it.

You may have misunderstood me. I’m an American living in California. I know a lot about Great Britain because of friends and family who live or have lived there. I’m not going anywhere just yet.

The trend’s the same in other post-Christian Western nations. Their new religions of diversity and global warming don’t quite equal the religion of their ancestors, so of course they’re losing hope.

DON’T COME HERE! We don’t need more socialist, muslim appeasing, losers.

You are not being very original — you are rewriting US history. Replace ‘morons of society’ with ‘RINOs and RATS’ and ‘British’ with ‘US’.

Can’t do it — no 2nd Amendment. May the people in the US learn a useful lesson from the British’ misfortune.

And we are only 10 to 20 years behind Britain. This is coming here unless somebody can find a way to stop the remorseless, irrepressible move toward socialism since the 1960s.
I continue, popcorn in hand from my front row seat, to watch the suicidal Death of Western Civilization in real time. I no longer ever need wonder about the fall of Rome. I know exactly how it happened, repeated today.
If we don’t reverese course and find a way to put voting back in the hands of ONLY those who work and pay taxes and are not on the dole, then we are flat doomed.

Yes, I'll go along with that part.

I cannot be too original because I need to be factual. Yes, the decline of Great Britain parallels that of the US. There are some important differences but the same destructive forces that are eating away at British society are doing the same in the United States. I don't think at this point I need to go into details as those have already been expressed. Irrational immigration policies are at the epicenter of both declines. The Democrats are the US instrument of destruction and the Labour Party that of the UK. The British decline was so unnecessary because they had the United States to look to to see how immigration was being done stupidly. They followed suit in just as foolish a manner. Not much more needs to be said.

True. And if you look at the comments below the article, you will see that some Brits just don't get the 2nd Amendment. They are afraid of firearms. They are afraid because they have no right of self-defense and are divorced for the most part from owning firearms.
IMO, and I am somewhat of an Anglophile, they will never be able to stop the trend. To me, it is a sad comment on a once great nation that brought civilization to 3/4 of the world.
