Sorry to be a wet blanket, but someone has to do it.
The “Miss Me Yet?” billboard (inspired by Jonathan Maney’s t-shirts) is cute. But let’s not get carried away with nostalgia.
President Bush put America on the proper war footing after 9/11 and deserves much credit for doing so, but he also:
1) joined with open-borders progressives McCain and Kennedy to try to force shamnesty down our throats;
2) massively expanded the federal role in education;
3) championed the Medicare prescription drug entitlement using phony math;
4) kowtowed to the jihadi-enabling Saudis;
5) stocked DHS with incompetents and cronies;
6) pushed Hillarycare for housing;
7) enabled turncoat Arlen Specter;
8. nominated crony Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court;
9) pre-socialized the economy for Obama by embracing TARP, the auto bailouts, the AIG bailout, and in his own words:
“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system.” – George W. Bush
No, I don’t miss having a corporate socialist Republican in the White House any more than I like having a corporate socialist Democrat in the White House now.

You're a fool. I grant you that Bush spent too much. I grant you that he didn't secure the southern border. I have posted on this very board my displeasure with those aspects of his Presidency. But your comparison of him to LBJ simply displays an abject failure on your part to understand LBJ who I hate with a passion.
LBJ sent many of my brothers in arms to die in a war he never had any intention of winning. (See LBJ and Robert McNamara, scumbags.)
LBJ also personally destroyed the urban family, enslaving generations of same to government.

I have always loved watching her. Remember when she guest hosted O Reilly’s show on summer Friday nights a few years ago? I was the best I have ever seen the show.
I have a problem with the complete lack of balance in Malkin's "look at me!" comments in this article. It indicates an emotional issue that she apparently has against the positive view of President Bush as expressed in this billboard, and by the majority of conservatives.
She knows that there are many positive qualities that George W. Bush brought forth. She knows that George W. Bush was unapologetically pro-life, and that he waged an unrelenting and successful war against terrorists, and she ignores them to bash him.
And no, I don't discuss issues with liberals like you, and agree with JimRob when he called you a troll.
So that's all you'll hear from me.

You just can’t handle the truth. Examine their domestic agendas - from LBJ’s Great Society to GWB’s Ownership Society. From LBJ’s execrable handling of Vietnam to GWB’s dithering on Falluja and trying the “hearts and minds” tactic again....
Yes, the current guy is 100x worse as a President, but much of his current policies are EXTENSIONS or CONTINUATIONS of Bush policies.

George W. Bush never had any intention of defeating Islam. To be fair, no one currently or in the recent past in government does or did, so he wasn’t alone in that weakness. The US government prior to Reagan had no interest in actually ending Communism, either.

Bush supported Kosovo and wanted to bring terrorists like Mookie in Iraq into the “political process”. He allowed Islam-based constitutions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He refused to do anything about Saudi Arabia’s major role in funding the enemy. He intentionally increased Muslim immigration and did not do anything about visa over-stayers. He funded Al Fatah.
I’m not sure you have any conservative views yourself. All I’ve seen is “Bush good”.

He was good on tax cuts and terror; he also made a few good appointments to the Supremes. Other than that, not so much...
I never said, thought, nor implied that President Bush was "the messiah." I have said that God appointed President Bush, and that is a theological truth. He worships the same God, through Jesus Christ, as I do. He is my brother in Christ.
As I have said, if you disagree that he was appointed by God, then you need to take that up with Him.
Now, may I suggest to you that you let your animus against this good man go. If you and your friends here weren't so obsessed with him, then maybe I wouldn't need to come and defend against the broad brushed slander that takes place on these threads.
Now, let's keep this honest, OK? Can you do that? Or will your obsession compel you to continue with this dishonest assault?
