CNN) -- Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania, a longtime fixture on the House subcommittee that oversees Pentagon spending, died after complications from gallbladder surgery, according to his office. He was 77.
The Democratic congressman recently underwent scheduled laparoscopic surgery at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to remove his gallbladder. The procedure was "routine minimally invasive surgery," but doctors "hit his intestines," a source close to the late congressman told CNN.

“Pass it for Ted” will now become “pass it for Jack.”
Those evil doctors clearly allowed Murtha to die in order to sabotage ObamaCare. *eyeroll*

Since I posted the original thread earlier I thought it was interesting that Murtha has been this sick yet only in his death we are hearing about a medical screw up by a government run hospital.
Am I screwed in the head for thinking there was a reason this has been kept out of the news?

If only he had National Health Care...../s

See, you and I are looking at this story in two totally different pairs of eyes. I see it as a cover up for government care imo.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a longtime ally of Murtha's, said in a statement that he always put "the troops and their families first." Lt. Chessani would beg to differ. Anyway comfort and best wishes for the Murtha family during their time of loss.

I just don’t think that a surgeon’s possible mistake is going to become a big selling point for turning all of health care over to the government. This was Bethesda, not some run-down state hospital.

All surgery has risk, does not mean there was malpractices. The doctors tell you what the risks are, sometimes people just die.
He was an old man, never looked that healthy.
He was part of the 2% risk category.
