Debra Medina's interview with Judge Napolitano on Fox News Freedom Watch. http://freedomwatchonfox.com/
Nevermind her for Govenor, I’d rather see her in the US Senate.
Rep-tard is a brain dead republican.
Exactly. You don't own home, you rent it from the government at the whim of arbitrary market values.
You know CA had a golden opporutnity when they got rid of Gray; but they threw it away with both hands. Don’t do the same.
Haven't you heard, "tard" is offensive and shall no longer be used. Palin said so.
Firstly, watch who you’re calling lazy. Secondly, I live in Washington State. We have our work cut out for us ousting Patty Murray and replacing her with a conservative Republican.
My only care is that ALL states have very conservative Republicans voted into public office. But especially in Texas, which as a border state I would hope stands as a bulwark againsst this invasion of illegal aliens violating of our sovereignty.
That said, I am looking closely at Debra’s words (and so should you!):
“...The majority of immigrants who are now here illegally have that status because the immigration process is no longer a process at all, but another example of runaway government red tape and bureaucracy...”
Bullshit.
1. They are not “immigrants”. The term ‘Illegal aliens’ appears in Federal Statutes with the definition of “a foreign national in this country illegally”. THEY ARE NOT IMMIGRANTS! Immigrants are legal resident aliens.
2. Does she blame the folks who break our laws? No. She faults the U.S., and takes aim at our immigration laws, which work just fine as long as enforced vigorously.
“...Individuals must be held accountable for their actions, and those who break our laws and violate our sovereignty cannot get a free pass, regardless of their circumstances...”
Good. I like what she said here, but somehow, sandwiched between two statements that contradict this one, I doubt it means anyone will be deported.
“...But coming to the greatest state of the greatest country in the world should still inspire hope, not fear. It should mean dealing with the worlds most efficient immigration system,..”
“But”, there’s the qualifier. And again, she blames the U.S. for its immigration system, which the majority of our citizen believe to be satisfactory and want to see enforced.
In essence she is claiming our immigration laws as a sovereign nation are to blame for this invasion of millions of illegal aliens, the majority of whom are from Mexico.
Do you realize how irrational her position is? It is identical to that of the progressives/socialists/Democrats.
Medina was born Debra Carolyn Parker, the eldest of four children, on a farm near Beeville. Her family raised pigs, chickens and dairy cows on three acres near the house, and ran beef cattle on 90 acres nearby. At Beeville High School, she played tenor sax in the band, did soil and dairy judging as a member of Future Farmers of America and was president of the FFA parliamentary procedures team.
She met her husband, Noe, in 1980, the year she graduated from high school. They married two years later, shortly after her graduation from what was then Bee County Junior College. Noe Medina now works for his wifes medical billing company, Prudentia Inc., a three-person venture based in Wharton. The couple has two grown children Janise Cookston, 25, an interior designer who lives in Houston, and Jacob Medina, a 20-year-old agriculture economics major at Texas A&M University.
Medina thought she wanted to be a doctor, but after a physics course ate my lunch, a college counselor suggested nursing. She took a diploma from Southwest Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio, and later received a business degree from the Houston campus of LeTourneau University.
She and her husband moved to Wharton in 1989, when Medina became director of a nursing home. She changed jobs a few years later and began making the daily 120-mile round-trip commute to Houston as a medical consultant, while home-schooling her two children.
She opened Prudentia in 2002. The medical billing business is pretty much bare-bones at the moment, as Medina campaigns full-time.
The ethics law and the election commission law in Texas really make it difficult for average Joes to run for public office, she said. Who can afford to take off of work for a year to run for office? So, its been really hard, really hard.
Her political career had its origins in her church. She was raised a Catholic, but when she and her husband moved to Wharton, they joined the Baptist church. In 1992, the church deacons helped defeat an anti-abortion resolution at the GOP county convention, and, in Medinas words, It just shook me to the core.
When I first contacted her campaign asking about her and her background; they would not give any information; only pointed to her website with little or no information.
She needs to run for City Council or Mayor somewhere and establish a track record then if she proves to be what she says she is, run for Governor next time. One politician noted only speech delivery skills is enough and we already have that in Washington. You may not like Perry but at least you know what kind of devil he is and what you are likely to get with him at the helm. Some of his proposals have met with great opposition and they are now off the table - he does show the ability to be persuaded by the electorate. Electing Medina as Governor would be equal to having a first year medical student performing a heart bypass operation or open heart surgery unassisted!

I agree. There is absolutely no reason for her to run for the highest office in the state out right out of the chute.
I just don’t know. Gut instinct tells me no.
Thank you. Watched both youtube links.
So, what don’t you like about my observations concerning her opinion of our immigration system?
Watch out, you will stir up the Palin-iacs to feel they have to defend her endorsement of RINO McCain before endorsing RINO and former DEMOCRAT Rick Perry!
Go with your gut. If she would come out and say she would close the border between Texas and Mexico, deport all illegals and their families if they don’t want to be separated from them and fine the hell out of employers who hire illegals, then I’d vote for her. Otherwise, you go with the best of the alternatives for now - and that’s Perry IMO. There are a number of conservatives who have a battle royal on their hands this year fighting to keep their local Congressional seat - and they need all kinds of help. The state legislature is very, very close to going Democrat. Must not let that happen.

I don't agree with anything you said. Federal agents are charged with protecting the border. The current Federal enforcement is a sham. I agree with Medina. I agree with Perry.

Yeah, I had the unmitigated gall to ask a question about her speaking fee and whether it would be used for candidates like McCain and Graham. I was called a whiner, an idiot and accused of hijacking a thread. Interestingly, the question was never answered. The Palin Amen Chorus doesn't like questions.
You agree with Medina that...the immigration system is to blame for millions of illegal aliens invading our nation?
That it is our fault they are here?
“...The Palin Amen Chorus doesn’t like questions.”
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too.
Medina says :
As governor, she said, she would not militarize the border, but would deploy units of the Air, Army and Texas National Guard to assist local law enforcement in securing the Mexican border against the threat from drug cartels.
