WSJ Says McCain Feeling Heat From His Right Flank
2/5/10 | C.J.

Posted on 02/05/2010 9:35:10 AM PST by Commonsensecommonman

In reality, John McCain will most likely defeat his challenger J. D. Hayworth in the Arizona primary elections, but at least we get to see the old guy squirm a little. I do hope that the people of Arizona will finally see that John McCain has not done them any favors over the years and elect a true conservative to represent their state. McCain was a sellout on immigration, which is a major issue in not only the Border States, but the rest of the country as well. He is also a big government Republican who voted for the bank bailouts and opposed the Bush tax cuts. Although McCain has a fortune in his campaign war chest, he may have to spend a big chunk of it to defend himself in the primary. This should send a message to all of the other Republicrats that we the American people are demanding that our representatives vote our way once elected. Apparently, McCain is sufficiently scared because he once again enlisted Sarah Palin to bail his moderate butt out again. He also has hit the airwaves “portraying himself as Arizona’s last line of defense against government spending, bloated bureaucracy and government run health care.” With the exception of health care, he has done nothing but contribute to government spending and bureaucracy. If he is re-elected, the people of Arizona will know for certain if an “Old Dog” can change its spots. I at least hope the primary is close so that all of the Republicrats and RINOS will know that we are tired of voting for the lesser of evils and are now standing firm on our principles. They either can stand with us or be voted out of office at the first opportunity.

I am not receiving anything from McCain so far. Is there a way to get paid for posting here? Please advise.

Why don't you ask the boss?

GREAT IDEA MCLAME- WHY DIDNT YOU DO ANY OF THIS IN THE 20 YEARS YOU HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE ALREADY?????

He did.

Starting his first day in office McCain has been Goldwater on the budget. He has pushed, sponsored or voted for countless attempts for a Balanced Budget Amendment and he has made fighting earmarks a signature issue. He has never had an earmark. Never.

He was a primary sponsor of the Line Item Veto in 1996 which was later struck down in the Supreme Court.

McCain is a straight line fiscal conservative.

Now, would you care to discuss your Senators?

Hayworth is the kind of guy that, if he loses the primary, will run as an Independent to spoil McCain’s chances.

So what if he does? How is a RINO who will occasionally vote with conservatives all that different than a moderate Democrat who will do the same?

“Scott Brown is going to campaign for him in March!”

That makes Brown(whom women apparently drool over), and Palin(whom men drool over) both pimping for McCain. If McCain wins by one or 2 points, you can unquestionably hang it on these two.

If Hayworth would lose the primary, I would love to see him run as an independent. I would rather the democrat win than Juan McInsane.

Nice try, n00b. You are a buttboy for the Keating maverick media whore and you want to talk about J.D.s ego?

this is the same guy that in another post, much prefered Brown over Palin, because Brown was Rock Solid are something like that.

He’s a Rino lover, defending Rinos. Even thou I don’t THINK brown is as much a Rino as McCain is.

If it were an open seat, I would support Hayworth for Senator. But not under these circumstances, where he seems intent on settling some kind of score, a la Ross Perot.

If McCain loses the primary he’’ll try to do what his buddy Joe Lieberman did and run as an independent....He has shown in the past he will throw any one or anything under the bus to advance his career.

Your post doesn’t make any sense. Perot ran as a third party candidate.

The 1996 bill was the result of a ten year effort kicked off by this:

And tonight I ask you to give me what 43 Governors have: Give me a line-item veto this year. Give me the authority to veto waste, and I'll take the responsibility, I'll make the cuts, I'll take the heat. This authority would not give me any monopoly power, but simply prevent spending measures from sneaking through that could not pass on their own merit.

Ronald Reagan 1986 SOTU

Both of the Texas Senators sponsored over a BILLION dollars in earmarks in 2008-2009.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson was bragging that she had raided the treasury for over nine BILLION dollars.

They are anything but conservative.
