Lots of hype out there on both sides of the aisle. It looks like there is currently more activity on the back side of the sun and that will come over to our side in a few days. So perhaps sun spots will go up shortly. Still below moderate though. The range is roughly like this - (0-25 sunspots very weak)(25-50 sunspots weak)(50-75 sunspots moderate)(75-100 sunspots strong)(100-125 sunspots very strong)(> 125 sunspots peaking strongly). The highest so far for Solar Cycle 24 has been about 43 and it was on December 19th.
Let me aquaint you with Tim Patterson’s work on “global warming” who I believe proved global warming/cooling was mainly due to solar activity.
I summarized an extract findings of his work originally reported lucidly in Canada’s Financial Post in June 07.
Alas, the Financial Post was later taken over by the National Post and who buried the original article and did a re-write which ammounts to a screed against global warming. For it buries the scientific effort he used to arrive at his conclusions . I’m standing by the original reporting
and it is my website; http://www.thesusmat.com/
