Your welcome, fatima. I love to add my two cents to the music threads!
Here’s bittersweet breakup song, from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Tell Me On A Sunday. It’s entitled “Tell Me On a Sunday”
Don’t write a letter
when you want to leave
Don’t call me at 3 a.m.
from a friend’s apartment
I’d like to choose how I hear the news
Take me to a park that’s covered with trees
Tell me on a Sunday please
Let me down easy, no big song and dance
no long faces, no long looks
no deep conversation
I know the way we should spend that day
Take me to a zoo that’s got chimpanzees
Tell me on a Sunday please
Don’t want to know who’s to blame
It won’t help knowing
Don’t want to fight day and night
bad enough you’re going
Don’t leave in silence
with no word at all
Don’t get drunk and slam the door
That’s no way to end this
I know how I want you to say goodbye
Find a circus ring with a flying trapeze
Tell me on a Sunday please
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BXLQT91KjY
It always makes me cry.

Speaking of “The Wedding Singer”:
You don’t know how much I need you.
While you’re near me, I don’t feel blue
And when we kiss I know you need me to.
I can’t believe I found a love that’s so pure and true.
But it all was b-—s-—!.
It was a -——— joke
And when I think of you, Linda
I hope you ——— choke.
I hope you’re glad with what you’ve done to me.
I lay in bed all day long feeling melancholy.
You left me here, all alone, tears running constantly.
Oh would somebody kill me please? Somebody kill me please.
I’m on my knees, pretty pretty please
Kill me.
I want to die.
Put a bullet in my heeeeaaaad.

Y, Eddy Arnold is a great singer/songwriter.
I'd include what I consider his greatest hit, You Don't Know Me, but it's not exactly a breaking up song, because the guy never does get to know 'the art of making love'.
Just what a great song this is can be measured by the number of great singers who have covered it.

Not sure if this a break-up song or not but it sounds like one to me...
Ridin' My Thumb To Mexico Johnny Rodriguez
This old highway seems so lonesome when you're going where you've been
And a lonesome song will make you cry time and time again
If I had listened to a friend of mine ten years ago today
I'd have a better job than what I've got today
But the billboards on the highway and the brake lights on the cars
Make me jump out on the highway with my bag and my guitar
If she comes or if she goes it doesn't matter anymore
'cause I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
Ridin' my thumb to Mexico
It don't matter when or how I go
I'll ride this thumb till I see her again
So I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
Well the reason why she left me is not the reason that I'm here
I'm a travellin' kind of man just need a change of atmosphere
If there's any place I haven't been at all that's where I'll go
So I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
Ridin' my thumb to Mexico
It don't matter when or how I go
I'll ride this thumb till I see her again
So I'm ridin' my thumb to Mexico
