Polar Activity on Mars [Mars now easily visible by eye about 1 hour after sunset (in east)]

POLAR ACTIVITY ON MARS: Amateur astronomers monitoring Mars have noticed a sudden change in the appearance of the planet's arctic regions. "Over the weekend a dust stream appeared," reports Pete Lawrence of Selsey, UK, "and it is cutting across Mars' north polar cap." He photographed the activity using a 14-inch Celestron:

Polar dust storms are common at this time of year on Mars. It is springtime in the Martian north. Temperature differences between polar ice and darker regions to the south, which are heated by the springtime sun, stir up winds and streamers of rusty-red dust. In years past, the Hubble Space Telescope has observed dramatic dust storms at the edge of the northern polar cap--and now amateurs are seeing them, too. Train your optics here.

Those CO2 producing earthlings make me very angry.

Funny thing is, there is no evidence at all that CO2 at levels as low as we have today has ever caused global warming. In fact, there were levels 10-15 times higher than today during several ice age intervals!

Please, do not cloud the issue with common sense and logic!

I get it now! The solar wind is blowing CO2 from Earth to Mars causing gorebull warming there! Lol!

>> The solar wind doesn’t cause warming. It consists of ions (electrically charged particles from the Sun). However, the 11-year solar cycle may very well influence Earth’s climate via its ability to (magnetically) repel incoming galactic cosmic rays. GCRs are much higher energy charged particles which come from outside the solar system. They are believed by some scientists to assist in the formation of thick low cumulus clouds, the type that *block* sunlight and help keep the planet cool. When the sunspot cycle is near a peak, less GCRs are able to reach Earth (creating these ‘cooling clouds’) and temps rise...naturally. <<

No but the Solar Wind is blowing CO2 from Earth’s atmosphere out into space near Mars where it collects and contributes to Martian Warming. CO2 is to blame here obviously...

My post was sarcastic of course... I did get a Green peace dummy to agree with me on this premise showing how little their rank and file know about how science works!

I realized the pic was a joke from the beginning. But I thought there was also the implication that the solar wind was to blame for warming the Earth (as opposed to CO2 as the gorebull warming alarmists falsely claim). Because there is little if any evidence that either causes warming.

LOL, the Solar Wind just pushed the CO2..... Ze sun has no warming effect, I know nothsing.....nothsing...

Not via the solar wind it doesn't. The solar "wind" isn't hot air or heat radiation moving through space. It's electrically charged particles. The heat output of the Sun does vary, however. Even though sunspots are actually comparatively 'cool' (thus dark) areas of the Sun's surface, they are often accompanied by hotter regions known as "faculae". These appear as light patches surrounding the sunspots.

Here's an example from Jan 25th of this year:

“Faculae are bright regions on the Sun’s photosphere affecting solar energy output. Changes in the number of faculae and sunspots may play a role in global climate change.”
