Why Do Democrats Promote Campaign Finance Reform?

Easy. Because campaign finance reform will handicap Republicans. With Democrats, rules are for the other guy. Democrats will simply ignore these campaign restrictions since they know nothing will ever be done about their violations. Republicans on the other hand can expect to be hounded by mere accusations which will effectively marginalize their campaigns.

Because the liberals prefer a stacked deck, to hell with the Constitution?

Because the unions are ticked that they don’t have an unfair advantage via soft money?

Because Demonrats scream about fairness, but have no knowledge of the actual definition of that word?

Why are they in favor of it? They don't think it's going to effect them and they're right. CFR didn't effect Union spending in campaigns all that much. It also didn't effect the liberal news networks/channels.

The goal is to silence their critics.

It's just that simple.

If corporations do not have the sames right as people to first amendment protection, under what authority does congress tax their income?

RE :”The Democratic Party has successfully attracted corporate employee contributions and become the party of business in its own right. Therefore, it’s likely that their sudden “concerns” over Citizens United are motivated by the desire to maintain campaign finance restrictions and continue benefiting from “business as usual.

Democrats got the money from corporations those years because they were on the upswing and would be making the new rules. But now they are on the downswing so corporations will support republicans again. Those in power get the money.
