First “America’s Newsroom.” Then “America’s Election Headquarters.” And on Monday, Megyn Kelly will begin anchoring a third all-about-America newscast, “America Live.”
Megyn Kelly, who will be the solo anchor for an afternoon program starting Monday, is a centerpiece of the news side of Fox News.
We’re big on America here at Fox,” Ms. Kelly said in an interview last week.
And America, or at least a big chunk of it, is big on Fox News, which is coming off its highest-rated year ever. That record is largely attributable to right-wing opinion-mongers like Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, whose bluster sometimes distracts from the newscasts that make up Fox’s daytime schedule.

Ms. Kelly appears weekly on Mr. O’Reilly’s opinion program, often putting her legal background to use. Inside the News Corporation, the owner of Fox, Ms. Kelly has been mentioned as a leading candidate for a prime-time anchor job. Fox’s contract with Greta Van Susteren, the longtime 10 p.m. anchor, is up at the end of the year.
Shepard Smith is a household name? What sick household is that? They ought to give Megyn his show.

I mean isn’t it amazing to hear an American broadcaster say “We’re big on America here at Fox” ??

As opposed to the likes of MSNBC and CNN, not o mention the alphabet nets whose anchors always play it straight down the middle..
Megan, should be a hit. She counters the softpaw Shepard Smith, whom they need to appease the libs that watch. She reminds me of that girl that one dates, where you can’t put anything past her, as she looks askance at just about everything you say....but once you hook her, watch out...she’s yours....The guy she married should be one proud dude....Compare her to a Katie Couric who should be relegated to some obscure cable channel to do inane interviews with the usual assortment of draft dodgers, pimps and othe liberal idiots...like Dan Rather and that nightline dope did.
I’d say Beck and O’Reilly have the beat of independents not the far right wingers...
Hannity is annoying on his radio to the point that I can’t stand him. He whines like a hybrid of himself and Mark Levin. It’s the same diatribe each day, but on TV I love his bantering with the libs on there. He has a couple black guys on there occasionally, one conservative the other liberal but in a funny way....They ARE GREAT TO WATCH.
Beckel??? Wish he were on our side, but he’s not... and never will be...as that gray haired Irishman...(what’s his name)...They took that Kristin Powers (?) off of there, because she was so left, her mental illness showed.
Then there’s Stossel and Geraldo....not mention the great panel with Charles K....and the other anchors...nice mix there. Hope they never leave, as they provide the real balance.
IT’s easy to see why the channel is soooooo popular....There is someone for everybody....
I had a first date the other night with a beautiful gal....After the first glass of wine, I “carefully” asked her...”So, what are your politics?” She replied, “I’m a Fox News girl.” The evening was like a long pleasant down hill ski run from there...had a blast!....

Beck is definitely not bluster IMO, he is concerned about our country and does an outstanding job conveying why he and we should be and are concerned. O'Blowhard..."Its all about me."

One other thing. Not sure how many parents will end up reading this thread. And perhaps I am assuming facts not in evidence...but this move tells me (at least) something about how R. Ailes is running this ship. (Hint: very well)
I can tell you, if you were the parent of a newborn and you were given a choice of which hours during a normal business day to work...from 1-3pm would be IT. Most newborns are completely crapped out at that time. Megyn Kelly is prolly able to do much of her prep work at home. I have long suspected that Fox News isn’t only somewhat conservative and friendly in name only.
We have the Jennifer Griffin thing “I have a tumor that’s growing faster than an al-Qaeda cell in Somalia.”
We have the Janice Dean and Neil Cavuto thing. Both have MS. I remember when Dean had a babysitter issue last year and had to bring her child to work. She thanked R. Ailes profusely on the air for letting her bring the kid to work, and then grabbed the kid to show the little tyke on the air, waving to the camera.
Perhaps to Ailes himself. LOL
I’m really glad Megyn Kelly has her own show. She stops the spin much better than O’Blowhard. I think Fox News should bring back E.D. Hill b/c I really liked her a lot, too.
