Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.
How do you know?
YEP!
Just citing the post that was linked to—#510 or some such.
“know” is a very relative term . . .
I have certainly “felt” for at least a year or two that Iran already had a few nukes—whether it bought them from North Korea or Bulgaria or whomever.
And, certainly the oligarchy could have delivered them some on a silver platter, if they wished.
What I posted about the Iran nukes is boots on the ground visual reporting. Fissionable material eventually obtained from Ukraine though mostly Russian after fall of Soviet Union. Sorry I cannot offer links to sources. Alan at Antimullah is as close as I can bring you to sources.
Meanwhile you might want to read this related article with Potlatch graphic added.

Thanks for the ping!
Thanks.
No trouble believing those ‘boots on the ground’ sources, at all.
quite plausible, to me.
God have mercy on us.
I do take offense.
The question is: am I misreading or are you a ranting paranoid (no offense meant). You claim the former, I claim the latter.
I’ll bet you $100 no nukes of any type are exploded this month.
I’ve seen you rant before, too. I’ve called you on it. That’s not my reading comprehension, it’s your broadcasting nonsense like this. I ask for sources, you say they are secret. How convenient. Excuse me for being sceptical.
We have enough problems without blowing up real things (Iran) into realms that are way out there. (Iran nuking NY, your theory now apparently adjusted to take into account the inconvenient facts I brought to light, to wit: Iran has only middle-range missles at best.
Free Republic is too important to be taken over by kooky conspiracy theorists with secret evidence, predictions of future events based on ‘secret’ sources, and wild caterwalling.
I have been a daily poster on Free Republic since 1998. My twelve years of postings speak for themselves. I will grant that I am not as involved in the ins and outs of Iran as you are.
But you can’t expect to come here, make outrageous claims, claim the sources are all secret, and not be challenged on it. This isn’t Democratic Underground. Scepticism, independent verification, footnoted facts, and common sense deduction are all critical factors in achieving Free Republic vetting, trust and respect.
I’ve worked hard to achieve that. I believe I have. As evidenced by the many challenges you’ve received on this thread, you are still falling far short of that goal.
I’m trying to help you get to the next level. Name calling, unsourced claims and wild defenses of them isn’t going to do it, sorry.
What exactly does EMP destroy? I have several magneto powered motorcycles. I think they may survive and EMP blast. Would EMP de-magnitize a rare-earth magnet? That’s the core of a magneto system.
Twelfth Imam bump
Jumping in here.....
I know that normal commercial chips as found in PCs cannot handle radiation aboard spacecraft.....
I would suppose that EMP would deliver some type of radiation similar to that encountered by satellites...
I believe that some of the electrical equipment found in power networks is also impacted by major coronal outbursts from the Sun....
Found this:
The Effects of Nuclear Weapons - EMP radiation from nuclear space bursts in 1962
Above: USSR Test 184 on 22 October 1962, Operation K (ABM System A proof tests) 300-kt burst at 290-km altitude near Dzhezkazgan. Prompt gamma ray-produced EMP induced a current of 2,500 amps measured by spark gaps in a 570-km stretch of 500 ohm impedance overhead telephone line to Zharyq, blowing all the protective fuses. The late-time MHD-EMP was of low enough frequency to enable it to penetrate the 90 cm into the ground, overloading a shallow buried lead and steel tape-protected 1,000-km long power cable between Aqmola and Almaty, firing circuit breakers and setting the Karaganda power plant on fire.

my friends, I am delighted to read thoughts from both of you.
Whether there IS nukes in Iran or not, we must all be prepared as though there is.
All the informed arguments on FR just give us more info. ..
I read a rather long paper today (on another forum) that tried to deal with “the unexpected.” In it the author showed how our defense establishment had a long history of planning to defend against “normal” threats while ignoring anything that seemed too far “out there.” A case in point was 9/11. Our military minds were busy defending us against a conventional missile attack and ignoring as ‘too unlikely’ what we finally suffered.
We do it all the time. Our military is presently furiously re-training itself to handle all sorts of odd-ball scenarios. The possibility of some foreign power using a cargo ship as a launch platform for a short-range missile has been around for several years. Indeed, a popular “blovel” called “Lights Out,” written two or three years ago used that very ploy to start the story. Even I (and I’m certainly no military genius) have seen the possibility of such a tactic.
Now, FARS may or may not be as bright as he seems to think he is but if (and that’s a big “IF”) Iran does have warheads bought from North Korea or from Ukranian malcontents we have to consider the (possibly) unlikely event that American cities could be targeted. As a child I was always told to pray for the best but prepare for the worst. It’s still good advice.
I’ll guess a bunch of missile tests coupled with rantings and ravings about hatred for Israel and Jews, decline of the west and Great Satan etc.
bad as Ahm-a-whackjob is, and as seriously as we must take the Iranian nuke and missile programs, I don’t think there’s (yet) much new capability that they will demonstrate by Feb. 11
this is mainly internal regime propaganda — and the more that they do force Israel to regard the situation as urgent, the more imminent will be Israeli strikes
too soon for the whackoffs to try to provoke a bigger confrontation
caption Dick Cheney:
“Good heavens, where did we get such an ignorant charlatan as this Obamanation?”
There would still seem to be questions regarding the guidance of the missiles.....
Then of course we have the question of just what the payload might be....
