Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.

Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.

The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.

Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.

It is by now an open secret among intel agencies that Iran has at least six or nearly a dozen nuclear weapons already in nose cones on missiles that can all reach Tel Aviv and Eastern Europe.

This is nonsense. It took the U.S. twelve years (1945-1957) until it had miniturized a nuclear weapon enough to allow it to be delivered by ICBM. And you say Iran has done it in less than one year? Get a grip. We have enough real problems to solve.

To much being thrown out with no verifications. I doubt any current Iranian missile could deliver a nuclear warhead the required distance to Israel. And I am not buying the supposed fission grade Uranium begotten through the Ukraine. Iran has not performed any nuclear testing yet assuming they potentially could have some crude nuclear warhead actually assembled at this point. You don't just go off half cocked and expend all your marbles at one time.
And the way people use the term dirty bomb... Ok radioactive isotopes packed around a conventional warhead. I can by that one. But if they spritz off some missiles into the Saudi oil fields or into Israel they know their ass is grassed. I don't think the Supreme Leader wants to see his country taken over by the west after surgical strikes of all varieties totally take them out.
They just want to continue to play the game with backing from Russia and China. Keep the west on their toes and keep their mad dogs believing they will eventually destroy the Jews.
We have been down the same road of discussions at this site for going on some four years. Same scenarios presented over and over again.
Lots of false data goes forth.
February eleventh will pass with nothing of any real significance happening. Other then perhaps a few more missiles being fizzed off a rocket launching site. And if a underground nuclear test is detected which it surely will be then they show the world they all along did have every intention of making a atomic bomb. Russia and China will then be shown to be accessory to the crime, for egging the clowns in this direction.

You are putting a lot of sensationalist crap out there, most of it without out any references what so ever. You are now claiming that Iran is going to nuke New York and LA with ICBMs!

Dude! Get a grip.

No one has ever claimed that Iran has ICBMs (except you in this post!) Sending missles to LA from Iran is not as simple as sending them to Tel Aviv. It is non-trivial. Iran has never demonstrated anything near ICBM capability.

Wack-job has made many many claims, and has thus far failed to deliver on any of them. Talk is cheap, and he loves to talk. I seriously doubt he’s going to shoot missles at Tel Aviv and Saudi Arabia on the same day. That makes zero sense. And I do not believe he has anyway to nuke NY, even if he wanted to. And, no matter how wacky he is *WHY* would he nuke New York.

There are a lot of things we, the USA, might ignore - but that isn’t one of them. Nuking NY & LA means the destruction of the Iranian Islamic Republic, without doubt. There is absolutely NO WAY (even Obama) would not retaliate massively until the government were destroyed.

Remember: in Iraq and Afghanistan we may have had problems bringing the peace, but we had NO PROBLEM bringing death and destruction and evicting the ruling dictators. Saddam was done with easily in a week or two. The same fate awaits Iran if they did what you suggest. I know it, now you know it, and they certainly know it.

Therefore, they ain’t gonna do it.
