This seems like a really good idea. A German company called Armatix has developed a handgun that can only be fired by someone wearing a biometrically unlocked wrist watch. An LED light on the gun glows green if its set to be fired or red if its locked.
According to the product page:
To activate the wrist watch, the authorized persons fingerprint must first be read by the wrist watch. An internal database compares the current fingerprint against stored prints and responds accordingly. The wrist watch is then activated for a definable period e.g. an officers work shift or until manually deactivated.

A really good idea? Good way to get many, many people killed while they are trying to defend themselves and have lost their stupid watch. I want nothing to do with firearms that can’t be fired when ever I want to fire it. This is just another attempt(so called smart guns)to disarm us.

Best part of the article: The .22 caliber handgun will apparently be available sometime next month with a price of 7,000 Euro (almost $10,000).
Hmmmm. Let's see.
I can buy 20 AK-47s - enough to arm my entire neighborhood.
Or...
I can buy ONE .22 cal pea shooter that requires me to wait for the little green light while the bad guy shoots my face off.
But it comes with a neat watch. I'm going to have to think on this one.

It has this little lever on the side that works reliably 100% of the time.

There are so many ways to look at it. That 1 gun (.22 caliber) is equal to 10 AR-15’s, or about 12 Kimber’s, or 38 Ruger Mark III’s.
Why on earth would anyone buy one? Would love to meet the person who does......most likely a Bill Gates type of fellow.
