Alaskans divided on Palin
Public Policy Polling ^ | January 29, 2010

Raleigh, N.C. – Sarah Palin is no longer an overwhelmingly popular figure in Alaska. Just 47% of voters in the state now have a favorable opinion of her to 45% who see her in an unfavorable light.

Palin is still in good standing with Republicans as 78% of them have a favorable opinion of her to 15% who view her negatively. But her support with independents is a negative 36/55 spread and with Democrats it’s only 24/74. Interestingly there is a reverse gender gap in Palin’s numbers with 50% of men but only 44% of women having a positive take on her.

I don't know who these guys are, but I thought that this was interesting.

“Voters seem to have been pretty put off by her leaving office early. But Sean Parnell is certainly benefiting from it.”

I think that I would prefer that people be dissapointed in me for leaving rather than for sticking around.

Nail her down with direct questions on “amnesty” and “path to citizenship” and immigration reform.

She’ll lose her shine.

She left office with high numbers but what we are seeing here is what we always see with conservatives.

When the media is left alone to do it’s work, their numbers fall, but when they can fight back during a legislative battle, or an election campaign, then their numbers go back up.

Being out of office and out of Alaska created media opportunity but it is nothing that a Presidential run wouldn’t fix up pretty quickly.

And in a new poll studies show that 100% of the left wing media are OBSESSED WITH Palin, who holds no office and is not running for any thing.

A related survey showed that these same media will ignore any real news stories of the day to report a negative item they can find (or make up) about Palin.

As an Alaskan, I believe most people up here wish she was still in charge; you could trust that the decisions she made did benefit the Alaskan People. We have had a history of corruption related to the oil Industry that transcended both Repubs & Dems. Palin put a stop to that garbage quick and the people knew she was above reproach.

Now Parnell is the gov, they are back to talking about adjusting oil taxes and you can just see all the corruption coming back.

WE had a 500 year flood take out half our community last spring at ice out on the Yukon. Palin flew in, visited the community, no photo-op either; she walked around by herself, no camera crew like I saw dem phoney Tony Knowles at Mentasta after the 7.9 shaker nov 3rd 02. The road was washed out and us locals had a atv mud bog trail to get out to this side of town & Indian Village. Palin threw a coat over her good clothes and jumped on a 4wheeler and rode out that trail herself just so she could talk to the Indians and Whites that lived out this way; nice touch;;; but that's the real deal Palin.

People up here figure It'll be another generation until we get a honest political up here again; they'd take Sarah Palin back in a minute; you can take that to the bank.

I have no problem believing everything you said, which is why I don't believe that poll is even remotely connected to any reality.

You could probably find 710 people in Alaska that don't even know they have a governor.

That's the point. It seems her numbers are only down because she resigned. Kinda flattering, I think.

When was the last time any polling organization decided to run a poll about a former state official who isn’t running for anything. Total BS, in other words.

Eska,

You are probably spot on in your beliefs.

I don't think any agenda driven manipulated poll results will work on the former Governor. As with President Reagan, she seems to have the ability to communicate directly with the American public.

The media is far more vicious today than in Reagan's day, yet the attack plan remains the same. Like the attacks on President Reagan failed, so will these attacks on the former Governor.

English must be your second language.
Dozens of posts quoting Sarah Palin along with audio.
from interviews and articles over the past recent months.
Sorry, if you are looking for amnesty, you won’t get it from Sarah.
She is against illegals and not for amnesty.

also of intesert is that this poll overpolls women. AK is the only state where men outnumber women by 52 to 48, but the poll asked 52 percent women and only 48 percent men. If the figures were reversed, Palin approval rating would still be over 50 percent.
