Kelly would say that. Joe Paterno tried to recruit him... as a linebacker.

Colt McCoy is rated higher but he isn’t rated that high because of the fact he likes to run better then pass and only passes normally to one or two receivers who many times had to reach to get the pass. I think he will do better based on his determination.

Sam Bradford, OU, despite the injury is expected to be the #1 quarterback drafted as the offense he ran fits the NFL better. Looks to be going to the Redskins in the last mock draft that I saw yesterday.

I belong to the Soonerfans message board along with being on Rivals and ESPN Insider and all the boards say the same about Tebow.

Given the way the sports press loves Kurt Warner I just can’t see how Tebow’s religion is a problem.

The backlash is against the media love affair with him.

Exactly. Tebow was somewhat like the Obama of college football. The media was simply slurping all over the guy. Tebow the man is a great human being, and I have no problem with him. That said, he might surprise some people in the NFL. I think alot depends on how he performs in the combines.

The Senior Bowl, which he’s going to play in, and which is mentioned in the article, happens 8 days before the Super Bowl.

Tony Dungy, Jim Kelly, and a few others have said Tebow is worthy of a 1st round selection. I’ll take the word of those who actually participated in the NFL over those who observe it from a desk and TV.

one other comment: Dungy & Kelly know that a QB must work hard and apply his talents. IOW's he has to be "coach-able". How many talented QB's fail at the next level because it's no longer just about the talent? It becomes more about desire. Another strong-suit for Tebow.

Do you remember a Mr. John Elway?? He too threw many wobbly passes, right into the record book and he too could run, but he was not as big as Tebow.

“What timing for Yahoo...Right before the Super Bowl when he will be in a “pro life” ad.”

Yeah, I bet the people at Yahoo covered the football in butter right before it was snapped to Tim all those times he fumbled.

“All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matt 10:22””

Little has changed in 2000 years. My sense is, that Tebow will stand up for what he believes and politics be damned.

I’ve read where Jacksonville might draft Tebow just to help the Jaguars with their attendance. So Tebow will get his shot in the NFl.

Personally, I think any team that takes him will have to look at him as a project to develop because of his throwing mechanics and lack of experience in a pro offense. It might take awhile for him to become a NFL quarterback. But if a team is patience enough I think that Tebow could be a good starting quarterback in the NFL.

“There are no guarantees but this hatchet job on a good person and a good athlete are silly.”

Do you believe the writer of the article is making-up the story about Tebow fumbling snaps?

I’ll bet he goes mid 2nd Round, possibly early 3rd.

I’ll also bet that he goes to a very good organization.

...He will surprise people and be a starter in 3 years.

Let’s see what happens...btw, these scouts are making calls based on seeing things happen in front of them...but the scouting that gets to the team will come after they look at the film. He is working with a new center and it could actually be an OL playing center out of position...something that could happen in an all star game...could be that QB pulled away too soon or could be a bad snap...to the film.

These scouts are good but they aren’t perfect. They didn’t give Kurt Warner good marks and he journeyed thruth European League and then made it big....Favre, was drafted very late for an elite QB...

Albert Pujols, the best player in baseball went in the 17th Round.

To further confirm your point - Of the 88 players who started on this past championship Sunday, 19 were undrafted.

My fear is that McCoy is not really that big by NFL standards. However, neither is Kurt Warner. McCoy, Tebow, and Bradford are all class acts and Christians. I remember how the “experts” worried about how Vince Young had been a shotgun QB, and I don’t think he will ever be a premier NFL QB, although he is one of the most exciting college athletes ever.

He is easily good enough to learn how to move his feet. Look at the rushing he did too! I am just as cynical as you. There are lefties out there spreading the garbage. He should be judged solely on his athletic ability, just like everyone else is supposed to be right?

I’m a longtime UT fan, but Bradford is a great individual.

>>>I might be cynical but maybe, just maybe, this has more to do with his political stance than anything else...I don't know you be the judge.

There has been this type of discussion since the start of the NCAA season. See this from ESPN.com's Page 2 written back in December.

As recently as September, draftniks Mel Kiper and Todd McShay were predicting Tebow would go no higher than the second round of the 2010 "selection meeting" -- McShay forecast that Tebow could fall as far as the fourth round. Why? Purists haven't seen Tebow perform in the pocket, and think big guys who look more like tight ends than quarterbacks can't win consistently in the NFL.

Suddenly a big guy who looks more like a tight end than a quarterback is on a 9-0 tear in the NFL. Young is now on a 9-0 streak as a starter. If Young keeps winning, Tebow could rocket up to the top five picks in the 2010 draft. Tim -- send Vince a case of champagne!

They could also throw a spiral. Tebow looks like a lineman when he winds up to throw.

Christians have no place in the NFL. This is why Kurt Warner, Mark Brunell, Joe Gibbs, Kyle Brady, Mike Singletary, Reggie White, and Shaun Alexander were never given a fair shake.

"The Jags will draft him in the 1st round to fill the stadium and then they can figure out where and when to play him"

I think Gerard had just as many interceptions as he had touchdowns. How much worse could Tebow do? I think the Brunnell idea is a good one.
