I still don't get why conservative politicians almost always back down after making truthful statements. It isn't like the heat is going to come off them anyway.
If it was me, I would dare my detractors to prove me wrong.

People like Bauer need to take opportunities like this to TEACH people about conservatism.
What he said was RIGHT!
Be bold Bauer! Stand up for what is right! If you give a man a fish today... you will just have to give him another tomorrow. BUT, TEACH a man to fish and he will provide for himself and his family for a lifetime. This is the heart of conservatism and needs to be addressed head on!
