TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Former Florida legislator Marco Rubio has closed the gap in the race for the state's Republican U.S. Senate nomination and is in a virtual dead heat with Gov. Charlie Crist, according to a poll released Tuesday.
Rubio, a lawyer who served as Speaker of the House, was once considered a long shot against Crist, who has widespread name recognition and a significant fundraising lead. But with Florida's primary seven months away, Rubio was favored by 47 percent compared with 44 percent who preferred Crist statistically a tie in the Quinnipiac University poll that has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8

When he decided to flood Florida with hundreds of thousands of Haitian refugees, he sealed his fate. He is toast.
At a news conference Monday, FreedomWorks put out a list of candidates it is backing or opposing in key races this year. Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R), a candidate for the Senate; Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.); and Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) each are labeled an “Enemy of Liberty” whom the group will oppose. FreedomWorks will back GOP Senate candidates Marco Rubio (Fla.), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Rand Paul (Ky.) — each, according to the group, is a “Champion of Freedom.”

Great news!
Come on people, please donate, even if it’s only a little. We all helped with Brown, now we need help with Rubio.
It is important to help Rubio. I will send a check.
FYI, I have seen him in person twice..in small settings..maybe 200 supporters, early on in his campaign. He’s intelligent, attractive, yes, even charismatic, very articulate..good sense of humor..in short, he’s tghe real deal...THis primary is over..the spread is going to widen. If/when Crist debates Rubio..well, it’s no contest...I think right now it’s 50/50 that Crist will drop out at some time..
I went and pledged here: http://senateconservatives.com/moneybomb/rubio
Their home site was not working yet, but the money bomb one seemed to work ok.
I did forget most of what I learned in Stats class !!
Thanks.

Keep the Hits coming, FReepers ! We can turn Florida back to Red eventually!
I am by no means a political expert---and I mean by no means!--- but my own advice, for what it's worth, would be to concentrate on just one or a few races, where you are confident that your candidate is fully worthy of your support, and/or the opponent deserves to be well and truly whomped.
I highly recommend giving to Patrick Hughes in Illinois. The candidate is worthy; his opponent is atrocious; the need is urgent; and the time is now.

RUBIO ON THE ISSUES WE CARE ABOUT
He will be getting my vote 7 months from now.
Crist will have to settle for an ambassadorship to somewhere warm, courtesy of BHO.
Great to see. Now it’s time to finish strong.
Such good news! Go Rubio! (I just love the smell of singed RINO in the morning)
Thanks for the ping. Rubio has my vote and if he took paypal, he would have a few dollars from me. But seriously, Crist has not said word one about Haitian refugees.
No one begrudges the orphans or seriously injured folks coming here. But he has not said one word about hundreds of thousands granted green cards while 11+% Floridians are out of work. “America first” is about as much a part of his vocabulary as it is obama’s.
What Crist should do is go away. Besides, Governors run for the Senate or then the Presidency. The House isn't good enough for their egos level of public service.
