Consider the pre-election giveaway to the labor unions. Negotiators agreed to exempt union contracts until 2018 from the tax on so-called Cadillac health-insurance plans. That backroom bargain not only outraged the voters, it also violated the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, requiring the federal government to extend equal protection of the laws to all U.S. persons. Of course, not all voters understood the constitutional nuances, but they sensed that something was very wrong; and they reacted.
I have been disturbed by the socialists for years, ever since I learned many members of Congress 'openly' joined the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America). Several years ago, the names were published on the DSA site. (since removed of course) Please post any info you have, many of you have been on this issue for many years, & if we can store it all on one thread, we have our FreeRepublic Warehouse on the enemies of the state. How DO we combat this, when it's coming at us from every angle? When the people have been asleep for decades. Please post anything you have found or accumulated. Also choose a dictator these people follow, of particular interest, those in D.C. who have been quoted with their adulation of one.

Stupak is a liberal, and in the end, will vote for the bill. I've never wanted to be more wrong in my life, but he will be the reason the bill passes.
Paul WHB taking our posts serious, Stupak news unsure...has them down by FOUR votes
Jackson was known for passing exams in college by flagrant cheating. This is from eyewitness testimony, as told to me.
CNN Headline News is stating the the Dems say that they have the votes.

Pomeroy, Dorgan, Conrad say they will support health reform bill
North Dakotas Congressional delegation said in a statement they will support final health care legislation up for a vote today in the House.
By: Herald Staff Report, Grand Forks Herald
North Dakotas Congressional delegation said in a statement they will support the final health care legislation up for a vote today in the House.
In a joint statement issued this afternoon, the delegation of Rep. Earl Pomeroy and Sens. Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad, all Democrats, released the following comments:
This country is facing a choice. Should we do nothing, and allow our health care to continue down the same path of rising health care premiums and shrinking benefits? Do we allow more and more middle-class North Dakotans to lose their insurance because they changed jobs or can no longer afford it? And do we allow out-of-control medical costs to continue inflating the federal budget deficit?
We have concluded that doing nothing is not an option. We dont think this bill is the silver bullet to solve every problem facing health care in the United States. But we have worked hard to make sure it is good for North Dakota

Whip count from The Hill: Everything depends on Stupak

I thought for sure that Lincoln Davis and John Tanner voting no meant that Pelosi had made it and was now releasing vulnerable Dems, but it aint so.
Your move, Mr. Stupak.

If every member votes, Democratic leaders can only afford 37 defections. According to The Hills whip list, there are 39 Democrats planning to vote no.
Furthermore, The Hill also has eight Democrats in the undecided/unclear column: Reps Jim Cooper (Tenn.), Kathy Dahlkemper (Pa.), Paul Kanjorski (Pa.), Alan Mollohan (W.Va.), Earl Pomeroy (N.D.), Mike Quigley (Ill.), Bobby Rush (Ill.) and Loretta Sanchez (Calif.)
Some believe there are a few lawmakers on The Hills Firm No, Leaning No, Likely No list who could vote yes, including Reps. Marion Berry (Ark.), Rick Boucher (Va.) and Mike McMahon (N.Y.) and perhaps others.
The problem for Pelosi is that is she gets Stupak on board, she may lose abortion rights legislators, such as Rep. Mike Quigley (Ill.).
***************
CNN reported via Twitter that Pomeroy is a yes. Obviously the whip count is good news, but look: The liberals seem to be willing to agree to some sort of sham executive order on abortion to placate Stupak, and the Stupakers clearly do want to vote for this thing. In fact, Jon Ward of the Daily Caller caught this scene on the House floor within the last 90 minutes:
***********

If my observation of Steny Hoyers interaction with Bart Stupak just now on the House floor is any indication, Stupak looks very much like a yes.
Stupak walked over to Mike Doyle, Pennsylvania Democrat, the liaison between leadership and pro-life Democrats. Moments later, Hoyer walked over.
Hoyer asked a question, listened to Stupak talk for a few moments, and then gave a very animated and enthusiastic slap with his right hand on the Stupaks left arm. Hoyer, smiling and nodding, patted him on the shoulder, and then put his hand on the back of Stupaks neck.
After a few more moments of conversation, Hoyer slapped Doyle on the back, gave a thumbs up and walked away.”
*******
Keep calling, by all means, but calibrate your expectations accordingly. As for the timeline, it looks like the big vote will come after 6 p.m. but could be pushed later depending upon how much time they need for negotiations. If the bill passes, the GOP will move to recommit and a vote on their motion will follow. NBC thinks that could make for high drama if the motion includes something on abortion to pressure the Stupakers, but I find it impossible to believe anyone would flip so quickly after having just bitten the bullet to vote on the bill itself. After the vote on the motion to recommit, they move on to vote on the reconciliation fixes, but at that point its all academic.
Stand by for updates.

In the Last Hour [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
The Hill got confirmation that Bart Stupak is still a no vote.
And in the last 15, I can tell you Stupak could be seen with Susan Muskett from the National Right to Life Committee and Peggy Nance from Concerned Women for America. Both groups oppose the executive-order strategy, knowing it to be a sham.
