As the Massachusetts blame game unfolds, the president’s unpopular health bill leads the list. But the substantive provisions of the bill were just part of the problem. Perhaps more important, voters were appalled by how the deal unfolded.

Consider the pre-election giveaway to the labor unions. Negotiators agreed to exempt union contracts until 2018 from the tax on so-called Cadillac health-insurance plans. That backroom bargain not only outraged the voters, it also violated the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, requiring the federal government to extend equal protection of the laws to all U.S. persons. Of course, not all voters understood the constitutional nuances, but they sensed that something was very wrong; and they reacted.

I have been disturbed by the socialists for years, ever since I learned many members of Congress 'openly' joined the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America). Several years ago, the names were published on the DSA site. (since removed of course) Please post any info you have, many of you have been on this issue for many years, & if we can store it all on one thread, we have our FreeRepublic Warehouse on the enemies of the state. How DO we combat this, when it's coming at us from every angle? When the people have been asleep for decades. Please post anything you have found or accumulated. Also choose a dictator these people follow, of particular interest,those in D.C. who have been quoted with their adulation of one.

‘This Isn’t Over’ [Robert Costa]

Mike Pence tells NRO that Bart Stupak’s vote is still up in the air. He says that “this isn’t over till the last vote is counted.”

On the abortion executive order, he says the negotiations are “a tacit admission that this legislation provides for the public funding of abortion. There’s no way around that. If the Democrats insist this isn’t an abortion bill, then why the need for an executive order?”

Man ejected from House gallery before health vote

A man was removed from the visitors gallery Sunday for interrupting House proceedings.

A man chanting “kill the bill” was removed from the gallery at 1:55 p.m.

The chant was applauded by some members of the gallery and some members on the floor.

Capitol Police led the man away from the third floor of the Capitol in handcuffs.

The man wore a white t-shirt with a picture of Uncle Sam. Under the photo, a caption read, “I Want You to Foot the Bill.”

Liberal leader: Abortion compromise could come Sunday afternoon

A House liberal leader she expects final language of an executive order on abortion to be released Sunday afternoon.

Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.), the co-chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said lawmakers expect to have an executive order supplementing their health bill before a vote on a rule for that bill is conducted.

The executive order is at the center of a final vote on healthcare, with Democrats who oppose abortion rights demanding the order before pledging their votes.

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), the leader of a bloc of Democrats opposing abortion rights, said early this afternoon he would still vote against the underlying bill.

Woolsey said she didn’t know how Stupak would end up voting, but said the process was moving along

“It’s coming along as it needs to,” she said.

Dems purposefully walk through protesters after meeting

House Democrats make an impulse decision Sunday to walk back from the caucus meeting outside and through a throng of protesters.

A leadership aide said the Caucus made the decision right before wrapping up their meeting in the Cannon House Office building.

The move threw the Capitol Police for a loop, as they had to scramble to bolster their security wall knowing that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was about to put herself within arms reach of an angry crowd that just a day earlier shouted racial and anti-gay slurs at Democrats. One protester was arrested for allegedly spitting on an African American Congressman.

The march across Independence Ave. back to the Capitol went off largely without a hitch.

A Democratic aide said a protester shouted “Dennis Kucinich you’re a traitor!” Kucinich this week announced his support after voting againt the House bill on the grounds that it was not progressive enough.

The crow of anti-healthcare protesters had been separated by police from a group of bill supporters.

Fox News likes to go gang banger every now and then though. Megyn Kelly and Carl Cameron were practically crying on each other’s shoulders about the shocking epithets hurled by Tea Party protesters. That really disappoints me because Kelly is one of my favorites. Apart from being very pretty, which doesn’t mean a thing to me, she is one of the smartest most honest reporters Fox has.
