this is good news
couple this with byron Dorgan’s retirement a nearly sure GOP pickup and Scott Brown’s surprising pickup in MA 2010 is starting out as a good GOP year. If we keep all our retirement seats (6 i think) we would be up to at least 43 not including other potential pickups like Illinois, Colorado, Nevada, and PA. Now if some high profile GOPers jump into the mix in other states like Pataki in NY and Tommy Thompson in WI we could see some real substantial gains on Blue state turf :)

Pataki ruined the GOP in NY. He is not the guy we want!!

I would rather see Betsey McCoy, Former LT Governor of NY under Pataki run instead. She understands the Health care issues better than most of the New York GOP.

I’ve read some pundits who claim that the GOP could take back the house in the 2010 midterms. Has anyone seen any “in your wildest dreams” predictions of a GOP takeover of the senate, or is that simply out of the question?
