Who Is Ellie Light: Plain Dealer Reporter Details Obama Operative and Astroturfer
Cleveland Plain Dealer Reporter Blogs ^ | January 23, 2010 | Sabrina Eaton

Posted on 01/23/2010 11:44:38 AM PST by PittsburghAfterDark

An interesting phenomenon has been occuring in various newspaper "Letters to the Editor" pages. A woman with the same name has had letters published in no fewer than 9 newspapers praising Obama while using various city and location residences.

Now it's one thing if the person(s) name was something like John Brown, Steve Smith, Amy Jones or any other number of common name combination. However the name being used is Ellie Light.

This may seem like much about nothing except for one small thing. The only Ellie Light that FReepers were able to locate by Lexis-Nexis or internet searches were a reporter that used to write for the Bergen Record.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2435422/posts?page=18

This reporter, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Washington bureau head, Sabrina Eaton has published several email exchanges with "Ellie Light" on her personal blog on cleveland.com. These exchanges are on the source URL for this post.

This is a very troubling development. Until it is known who "Ellie Light" the following questions are obvious.

- Who is behind the pseudonym "Ellie Light"?

- Is someone from the White House, Democratic party or a close ally employing someone conducting this kind of work?

- Why are newspapers failing to contact letter(s) to the editor to verify name, address/location and phone number and instead relying on email exchanges?

- Can you imagine these questions not being asked if they were the same name, publishing the same letter to the editor in various newspapers around the United States praising a Republican President?

I give major kudos to Sabrina Eaton for doing some true reporting and investigative work. I would be opposed to any White House or political party conducting such a campaign. This is a dangerous trend that's been revealed; newspapers are verifying even less and less information that they publish.

I urge Ms. Eaton and FReepers to stay abreast of this story and not let it die.

...now why didn’t these newspapers feel they should verify a Letter to the Editor unless it’s because they were so pro-obambi they just plain didn’t care if they were legit or not!

Of course there was collusion by the newspapers.

These people are so transparent.

Well the name Ellie itself means light. So their name would mean Light Light?

Just trying to think with one foot outside the box; the Dems never stray too far...

Its most definitely propaganda and I don’t mean the kind used against a foreign enemy. This is propaganda directed at the American people from the inner circle.

A bing search for the phrase, “Candidate Obama never claimed that his proposed solutions would work flawlessly right out of the box” got 2960 hits. Busy, busy girl!

She appears to be another "progressive intellectual" whose career has consisted of floating like a piece of flotsam on the sea that is the leftwing globalist media-academic-government complex where any "right-thinking" person can easily find a niche...

She sounds like a potential single mother of future US president.

This is all a distraction to the real problems of Obama's agenda. It is Obama's slight of hand. WE don't Obama's agenda to work. We don't want capitalism dead. We don't want government power or wealth redistribution or socialist HC. We don't want NWO. If we buy into Obama has not had enough time we are saying in time his agenda will fix our country. His agenda is 180 from conservatives so give it time, it will fix everything.

We need to switch this channel. Find these comments online and say what is really happening here. The difference is we fight with our hearts in it, not for pay like obama's thugs.

Who was Tokyo Rose and what was her main agenda?
A huge segment of it was to confuse Americans who were weak and make them weaker. Propaganda was her tool.

Right now there is a huge misguided, uneducated and ill informed populace which is very malleable.... The core Obama supporters.
Did I mention spiteful being included as well?

“We” meaning the progressive movement. When this is over Progressives will be thought of as the new party of fascism, marxism and communism combined.

This kind of reminds me of what I read about the soviets and others. Things like placing individuals in crowds to manufacture and encourage consensus.

I just wrote a letter to the editor for the Mobile paper, and within 2 hours of them receiving the email they emailed back wanting my address and phone number. The next day, the actually called and asked if I’d written the letter

I was told by a McClatchy newspaper they had to do this.

. . . She appears to be another "progressive intellectual" . . . .

according to Wikipedia, SNIP - - She is currently affiliated with the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Power has been a winner of the Pulitzer Prize and was a senior adviser to U.S. Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama until March 2008 which sounds pretty dull, but Esquire calls them the Fun Couple of the 21st Century (with two pics of the "cute" couple).
It's a two page article (written by Sunstein's cousin) and is quite revealing.
