A former Bethlehem middle school teacher whose nature program for seventh-graders won national acclaim apparently killed himself Thursday about an hour before he was scheduled to plead guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage boy, a charge that shocked the community and cost him his career.
Gregory G. Ritter, 45, a longtime Boy Scout volunteer and 20-year National Guardsman, was found dead next to a picnic table at the apartment complex in the Poconos where he recently moved, according to police, who said he had a gunshot wound to the head.

I haven’t “personally alleged the charges are false” — that’s a straw man. He is however innocent until proven guilty: a cornerstone the the judicial systems in the US and in most civilized countries of the world.

I long ago have given up on those FReepers who quickly judge and damn. If you don't agree with their lynchings, you are considered a cohort or supporters of the ALLEGED acts or crimes. Many of them must have some real personal torment going on. I wouldn't bother myself over their plaint and wailing.
I am a Christian, and a conservative. I am also a sinner, as are we all. But, sin is an action, not just a state of being. It always involves conscious choices. Those who wish to claim some sense of moral superiority or "personal holiness", are quite often involved in something, that if exposed, would bring them to feel a sense of shame, themselves. The proper term is hypocrite.
Jesus had some things to say about them. He constantly railed against the "Scribes and Pharisees". They love to be seen as RELIGIOUS. They love to sit in the front pews, and boast loudly about their religiosity. Many of them are perfectly willing to bow down to statues and pray with beads, and call it reverence and worship of God.
Don't waste your time on them. Too many aren't willing to hear truth or reason. They've been told the way to think, and had it beaten into their knuckles. Their morals are guided from other men. It's also amusing to hear the musings about "single men" in light of the many Catholics replying to this thread.
The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy. The only Judge is God. All else is vanity. When you lie down with dogs, you get fleas! When you try to argue reasonably with these petty trolls, you demean yourself. They will get their reward, and find the truth for themselves (or not!).
The easiest admonition to remember is found in Matthew 7...

Oh really? Did you take a New Zealander poll before coming to your conclusions? My posts pertain to the subject at hand which was Ritter's pedophilia which you want to defend for whatever reason and subsequent suicide that sent him to hell because of it and his overall mental illness that he obviously suffered from and then the fact that we all are subject to mental and physical illnesses in this life due to Sin and our rejection of God.
Just because YOU lack the wherewithal to hold any reasonable discussion in the realm of the Spiritual does not preclude the fact that others might, so please stay in your own language and culture and limitations and don't assume to speak for conservative Christian America.
