Holy smokes! JD is telling us this is his last hour on the air!
He is saying he will be heard from again in the public arena.
Many have tried to get that fence built + strong enforcement . Duncan Hunter enabled 100 mi.or so but was then denied more money to finish the job. As for enforcement, 2 border officials were imprisoned for that.
Now that Mackie has an opponent, she has a way out of this entangelment. If she will use it.
Ain’t that the truth .. cannibals.
And speaking generally, not here yet, that’s
precisely the right term for the growing # of
threads where some are so personally hateful
and vicious to their fellow FReepers.
Cannibals .. perfectly apt description .. eating
their own.
When views differ, they display and perpetuate
the same vulgarity, incivility and coarsening
of our culture so prevalent in the world outside
FR and from which I always thought this place was
a sanctuary.
I so hope FR will stay special, respectful and
better behaved than the other guys.
Let me translate. Follow what rules? The one's that have them pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line for an earned path to citizenship? This is what she said in the Univision interview:
"There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Univision:Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
"No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
Notice that she said the same thing in both interviews about "following the rules." I have been dealing with Congressmen who try to play the same word games. Even McCain denies that McCain-Kennedy is an amnesty. You must parse the words and ask the right questions or the politicians will squirm out of answering. Univision pinned her down and gave her no wiggle room. I still believe that she favors amnesty. I met with some of her advisors at CPAC last year and told them that she needs to distance herself from McCain on this issue or it will be her downfall.
Sorry, that just sounds stupid. JD was huge on Fox News when he was a congresscritter and is very well-known in many quarters.
And, this is the 2nd American Revolution -- you can be unknown today and a Senator tomorrow if you get the backing of the teaparty movement.
We can tweet a dude into office these days!
Used to be Flake, sent to JD’s. Newbie...LOL? Get an argument, don’t resort to namecalling.
I am conservative, I am republican, and I won’t vote for JD. Tough luck if you don’t like it, you aren’t gonna change it, so chill out.
So, you hate your Country so much, you’d vote Flake in ‘10? If you feel that way, why’d you join a Conservative website?
I didn’t mean that, I’m sorry.
JD is part of a group of Conservatives that will help restore our Liberties, lower taxes, find a solution to the illegal immigration problems we face, and restore balance to Congress.
We need every Constitutional Conservative we can get. In the Red States, like Az., we need to leverage our advantages to the maximum, and in the Blue States, we need to work with the best that we can expect to get to leverage, at least, the advantage that Senator can provide for us.
McCain would be OK for blue State, but in Az., there are better, more Constitutional minded choices. JD is one of them.
Won’t you, please, for the sake of our Country, give this more thought?
Thanks.
I think we’re on the same page. Thanks, fightinJAG!!
Big deal, I live here, and am plugged into the situation. JD got beat by Mitchell, he has high negatives amongst the voters. If he wanted to help, he could run against Harry again, but he knows he’d lose.
LOL, where did I say I hated the country?
seriously
Learn to accept that others have opinions also.
All I’ve seen on Palin’s support is that she has agreed to go to a couple of fundraisers. Woot. Not.
I disagree that people should “chill” as you say. There are many here who are sensitive or not to their canidates rubbing shoulders with Rino’s... McCain is one..fully. It put their radar up and they have the right to be concerned...and at least question Sarah’s unexpected actions toward McCain. Her move was not wise and most know that.
Politicians know they are watched and judgements are made along the way. And I disagree “people are making this too complicated,” politics ARE complicated, especially this early on..
...there’s not an individual on FR, who are watching the walk of politicians and not just the talk, who need anyone to tell them how to think. They’ll figure it out, but nobody needs condesending “mommy” corrections of how people wind their way thru understanding why and how politicians do and say what they do. It’s a maze, and always will be.
Ooohh, that’s nice!
LOL!!
Amen. There is room for dissent, that is why there is a primary. We get to vote for who we want.
“Learn to accept that others have opinions also.”
I’ll work on that. Meantime, consider the impact of your vote, would ya’?
BTW, I voted for McCain/Palin.
caww, it wasn't "unexpected." Dreaded maybe, but not unexpected.
Nope.
I’ve met JD, there is nothing between those ears. He is a sports broadcaster and a bit dim, his radio show was terrible. McCain has had an honorable life, and has served my state well.
Are her appearances limited to fund raisers? If so, I am already smiling.
I pray that J D runs an smart, effective and positive campaign. How to handle McCain? Thank him for his long, long service. Thank him for his bravery and honor as a POW. But NOW's the time for new blood, a new approach and a restoration of the Constitution. McCain's judgment is suspect, as his big project of Campaign Finance Reform just got the boot as unconstitutional.
McCain's wrong on the Constitution. McCain's wrong on Amnesty. McCain's wrong on "torture". McCain's wrong on Cap and Trade. McCain's wrong on Global Warming. McCain's wrong with his healthcare "reform". McCain does not understand how a free economy works. McCain does not understand how to get the American economy moving again. McCain is a progressive and Arizona needs a Reagan-Goldwater conservative.
