With the nation still mired in a deep recession that has millions of Americans experiencing economic ruin, the Obama administration marked Barack Obama's one-year anniversary as president by displaying a photograph of First Lady Michelle Obama wearing a $2,763 designer coat as the 'White House photo of the day' on the front page of WhiteHouse.gov.

Nola Weinstein, Fashion Editor for Glam.com noted that Michelle Obama was wearing a "mat lurex Moschino coat with a matching cap sleeve dress from the brand's Pre-Spring 2010 collection."
Sharon Haver at FocusOnStyle.com gushed over the outfit, calling it "very Camelot-ish".
Haver noted that Moschino sent out a copy of the White House photo with the bragging caption:
Moschino is pleased to announce that First Lady Michelle Obama wore a mat lurex Moschino coat with a matching cap sleeve dress while celebrating the year anniversary of the inauguration at the White House.

The Obama's are not shy about lavishly spending exhorbitant amounts money on themselves in the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression.
The First Couple took a ten-day Hawaii vacation over Christmas and New Year's where they stayed at a $4000 per day $8.9 million estate. Michelle Obama was photographed wearing $635 per pair shoes while out for dinner in Hawaii.
A recent study of five pairs of footwear worn by Michelle Obama shows an average price of $700 per pair.
It could not be readily determined how much the matching dress for the $2763 Moschino coat is selling for.
A woman lucky enough to have a job in this economy that pays the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to work nearly 380 hours without taxes withheld to be able to afford Michelle Obama's Moschino coat seen on the front page of the White House Web site as the Obama's photo of the day.
Yes it is pretty bad.
Who would have bought it? They’re not allowed to take gifts, right?
Well where to start! There are a few, very few outfits that look well on her. Most look childish. Many are the wrong color..like gold..it pulls the yellow in her skin tone. She does not know how to disguise her figure flaws..the butt in particular and the boob belts! Too small sweaters....Bad hair styles and worst of all the house maid outfits worn in public when she must know she may be the subject of a photo op when walking the poor dog who is Barrack Obama Jr.
That really made me giggle!
My computer’s not pulling up pics tonight - so Moosechelle purposely waited for a “black” tour to make an appearance? Lovely. No anger in that decision.
Hont: Naming the price is not very effective when the photo itself is so cute (and it is)
LOL! Is it my tired, old eyes or does she have a sag in her hose?
Could the ‘checkers’ speech be far behind?
Either saggy hose or “crushy” boots. Either way.......no taste!
Another NWA picture - No Whites Around (Except the Dead White Guys in the wall pictures).
It’s a wonder she and the Zero haven’t turned the dead white guys to the wall!
That does NOT look like a $2,000.00 coat. Certainly does NOT look like Camelot.
Good one! True.
Moe-SKEE-no
They're black. They don't have to have balance. We're the only ones who are expected to be balanced.
That was my first thought. Well, second, after poor Bo.
It didn't work. Just like Michelle's attempt to copy a First Lady. Normal people recognize that she's a cheap knock-off - a cheesy, dangerous, counterfeit good.
What is this? Karl Marx meets the Jeffersons? Que the ‘Movin on Up!’ theme.
Moschino’s navy bouclé tweed coat is an opulent outerwear choice.
It is an outdoor coat........?????
Is somebody keeping a daily total of outfits.
That would be something...... A coffee table book, with a page for each outfit for everyday and with a big bold price tag at the bottom of each page. How bout suggestions for a WORKING TITLE?
