You’ve never walked “The Freedom Train”, have you. As strange as Mass can be at times, they were all taught our history, which is their history. Sometimes, they even remember!
Re: “The Freedom Train”
Don’t mean to be picky, but it’s the “Freedom Trail.”
We spent nine months in MA back in the mid 80’s and I will never forget the feel of being in Lexington and standing where they fired the ‘shot heard round the world’ and had to wonder what happened to MA.
We were supposed to be permanently there at Hanscom AFB after the Industry assignment, but it was a frustrating nine months.
When I went to register to vote, the lady told me she didn’t have any Republican registrations three different times. Soon after, we found out we were not staying in MA.
Today I am so happy to see the people of MA standing up. Maybe it took someone like ZERO to get them out of their funk that they were a dark blue state.
It has been a long time since I’ve walked the Trail. I first walked it with my Mom and Dad when I was 7 or 8 years old. I guess I have walked it 5 or 6 times. It’s time to walk it again, this time, with my grandchildren.
It’s their local history, and they’re proud of it.
