I just read the entire editorial and the last paragraph said it all

Republicans have the time to do some real homework on issues and on explaining issues. Whether they will use that time for that purpose is the big question for them — and for the country.

Yes the article was well worth reading, enven though it was long. But it is obvious to me that some did not read beyond the word “due”

“Too many Republicans don’t even know their own party’s history.”

BTTT

I always learn something, if not a lot, from Dr. Thomas Sowell’s columns and this one is one of his best.

Thanks for the ping jaz.

Gosh he writes about so many of my favorite gripes. The entrenched Liberals in the Bureaucracies. I’m always on that one, and then too the “Big Tent” direction the RINO’s have taken the party.

Dr. Sowell is so correct on every point.

I agree that this is one of his best, onyx and like you say, RQSR, he nails several topics.

Thanks for the ping! Excellent work by Dr. Sowell. He doesn't understate where we are and what is at stake.

Republicans have the time to do some real homework on issues and on explaining issues. Whether they will use that time for that purpose is the big question for them — and for the country.

Great advice. For the sake of the Republic, it's long past time for Republicans to be Republicans again instead of conforming to what the demonrats have made you out to be.

I think when the Republicans are in power like they were for the first 6 years of the Bush administration, they need to “USE” their power intelligently[...]

Added a necessary word. They used their power--for the wrong things, like increasing spending.

Sorry, RINOs. You are not due!

Here’s what RINOs need to know, from Dr. Thomas Sowell:

“There is no point today in Republicans continuing to try to win over the average black voter by acting like imitation Democrats. Those who like what the Democrats are doing are going to vote for real Democrats.”

Hear that, RINOs? No Lib-Dem is going to want your Diet Choke over the Real Thing!

'Minorities have been the biggest losers from numerous liberal policies promoted by the Democrats — whether in maintaining the monopoly of failing public schools for the sake of the teachers' unions, restricting the building of housing for the sake of the environmentalists, turning criminals loose in minority communities for the sake of the American Civil Liberties Union and like-minded "progressives" or artificially expanding unemployment among minority young people with minimum wage laws.

All that needs to be explained — and explaining is what Republicans have been neglecting for years, except for Ronald Reagan, who knew that you can have your big tent and your principles at the same time, but only if you took the trouble to make your case to the public in plain English.'

God bless Professor Sowell for once again articulating one of the major weaknesses of the Establishment GOP, particularly in the last paragraph.

It makes me sick to my stomach what the Democrats have done to Blacks in this country, and the sad fact many continue to allow the Donkey Party to bamboozle them.

As Dr. Sowell stated, the Republicans have a great deal of homework to do during the next several election cycles...and the first assignment I would suggest is articulating the message of Conservatism without compromise.
