Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Rush gave Liz Cheney a chance to fill in on his show.

Most of his sub hosts are so boring......except for Steyn of course.

JD is running even with McCain now according to Rasmussen. JD was back in Washington a few weeks ago consulting with David Bossie’s group, Citizens United, among others. He will also be on a CPAC immigration panel that will include Joe Wilson and John Shadegg. They will discuss the impact of illegal immigration on social services, state and federal budgets, etc.

IIRC, Palin’s stated position was she would support conservatives, not just any nominated Republican. She did support the Conservative candidate in the NY 23 District and not the anointed Republican.

I don’t know anything about the particulars concerning AZ or McCain so I won’t say anything but it would be interesting for Sarah to explain what she did and why.

If she supports pro-amnesty, cap and trade, and don’t drill in ANWR, maverick McCain, then she supports loyalty and political expediency over principle. I for one will not support her. Amnesty will destroy this country with the stroke of a pen.

To put it in full context, Palin is supporting a McCain who was for amnesty and cap and trade before he was against it.

I for one do not hold Sarah's support of McCain against her, similar to the way I didn't hold Ronald Reagan's choice of VP in '76 against him.

Yes. Carter was "shocked, shocked" that the Soviets invaded Afghanistan.

My democrat sister even said he must be an idiot, because everyone on the planet knew they were sneaky and up to no good.

Wrong. Repub. numerical control with McCain means nothing. Dems. will still have voting control with crossovers led by McCain voting with them. We are better off if a Dem beats McCain in Az. assuming JD loses in the primary.

Daley won’t fine for unshoveled sidewalks
Comments

January 7, 2010
BY FRAN SPIELMAN City Hall Reporter

With snow blanketing Chicago and an election around the corner, Mayor Daley wouldn’t dare flex his legislative muscle to fine building owners who neglect to shovel their sidewalks.

City Hall has had that power for decades, but has never used it. Daley is not about to start now.

“I don’t think so. We just want people to understand that they have a responsibility — a civic responsibility to do it,” the mayor said.

“You always ask everybody to be the good neighbor. If you have a senior citizen next door, [make] sure you’re cleaning their sidewalk. ... Everybody has a responsibility. We have a clean city. People have great pride. ... Cleaning your sidewalk is really important. We hope everybody does that as good neighbors. It’s a safety precaution as well.”

The Active Transportation Alliance is encouraging pedestrians to post fliers on the doors of neighbors who fail to promptly pick up a shovel.

The never-enforced ordinance empowers the city to issue $50 citations against building owners who fail to clear walkways narrower than 5 feet within three hours after the snow stops falling.

Daley’s SO very sensitive and cautious when his poll #’s are in the tank... LOL ...

I know, I’ve been following his progress... I’m not thrilled he is going to CPAC given the turn that organization has taken lately...

If you recall, Hoffman was the candidate of the Conservative Party of NY. DeDe was the Rep nominee. Rightly, Sarah supported Hoffman as did DeMint, Dick Armey, and others. Newt supported DeDe because she had the GOP nomination.

In AZ, there will be a closed Rep primary. There is not a Conservative Party like in NY. In 2008, McCain was the only top tier candidate of either party who failed to win his/her home state by 50% or more in the Presidential primary. McCain is very vulnerable to a strong challgenger. Right now only Chris Simcox of the Minutemen is an announced challenger. JD is leaning towards entering the race.

Sarah is going to be faced with a hard choice on whether to get involved during the primary phase. If she supports McCain against JD, there will be some serious blowback among conservatives. She will have lost credibility. McCain is toxic to any conservative Republican. McCain has already endorsed Crist over Rubio (FL) and Nolan over Tiart (KS) in these senate primaries, i.e., the moderate over the true conservative.

When Hannity had Brown on the other night, I was SO afraid Sean was going to screw up the entire race. Here are the questions he asked, along with Brown’s very smart answers:

1. How do you describe yourself? I always tell people I am a Reagan conservative. (Brown said he prefers to think of himself as a Scott Brown Republican.)
2. Are you a social conservative? (Brown ignored the question and kept talking about terrorism, taxes, spending.)
3. What grade would you give the president? (Brown said he had some criticisms and named some on terrorism, but said he would prefer not to grade people.)

Those were 3 terrible questions, and if Brown had fallen into the trap of answering them the way Hannity was leading him, he would have given Coakley sound bites for ads and probably have guaranteed a loss.

Hannity needs to realize that he’s not interviewing people in a small private conservative setting, but that his questions and the answers he draws out go out to the world at large.

Little Lotta: put the job losses in context and let me quote some statistics.

LL should be relegated to the same room in the WH basement that the First Grandmama uses for her Santeria chicken sacrifices.

LL probably uses the chicken's entrails to formulate her economic predictions.

Lets face it. There are conservative airheads as evidenced by Hannity.

McCain is still in favor of amnesty. He has said he will not be supporting the current proposal in the House because it does not contain a guest worker program. He still supports legalizing the status of the 12 to 20 million illegals in this country, i.e., amnesty. His surrogate, Lindsey Graham, is working with Kerry on a cap and tax bill. I am sure that if McCain is reelected, he will support cap and tax.

The analogy of Palin's support of McCain to Reagan's support of Ford is a poor one. They are not analogous.

You are right. Reagan's pick of Schweitzer was worse than Sarah's support of McCain.
