"Michael Steele makes a number of old-time Republicans very nervous," Gingrich said. "He comes out of a different background. He went to seminary ... he's African-American ... But I think he's pretty close to what we need. He's different, he's gutsy and he's going to make a number of Republicans mad."

Newt, shut up and retire. You have said enough already.

Steele is a loser. He hasn’t even made inroads on the congenital Democrats in the minority community, which I assume was one of the reasons he was appointed.

As Haley Barbour said yesterday, GOP needs to get away from being “pure” and become “big” to win. Newt won big for us in 1994. Who is there in GOP who can engineer another big win in 2010? Losers have no power in US. Losers get screwed by socialists in WH.

He just proves that old adage, be quite and thought stupid or open your mouth and remove all doubt....Just a few days back some freeper (don't remember name) was touting a speech Newt gave and was giving trouble to those that said Newt was nuts.

I was one he/she kept demanding DID YOU WATCH THE VIDEO

Told him if he read my posts he had a reading comprehension problem if he couldn't tell where I stood on Newt and that I owned him a YES OR NO that he demanded...Newty nuts are still around...

Newt did not win for us big in the 90’s. The scandals from the democrats was so large, Rostenkowski was sent to jail and the Dem's. got caught in kiteing checks and the post office scandal...They would take a check for 5000 dollars into the house post office and buy one stamp and get the rest in cash....Newt just jumped in when the shi* started to hit the fan, and then cozied up to the Clintons real fast.

Along with the witch of the house and global warming...yuk..

Hows that big tent and blind support for rinos been working out for the GOP?

Newt has seemed confused since he admitted that he “melted” in the presence of Bill Clinton. He can write interesting essays, but leadership?????

Steele was not “appointed”. He was ELECTED by the members of the Republican National Committee. There are about 165 members.

Newt is becoming more and more like Biden. Every time he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it.

I personally do not believe that Gingrich had much to do with the 1994 victories. The American people as a whole had never heard of Gingrich on Election Day 1994. They were merely voting against the excesses of clintonism.

You are mis-informed. Gingrich was the chief architect of “Contract with America” and that contract was very well publicized.

There is no big tent...have you missed all the hate filled posts about “McLame” and “flip-flop” Romney?

Internal divisions within GOP is why you are getting a ream job from Mr. Obama. I am sure you deserve it.

Newt most certainly was the chief architect of “Contract with America”...

But never mind, keep attacking others in GOP and get reamed by Mr. Obama. I am sure you prefer that.

After Newt’s endorsement of Scuzzyfava, I wouldn’t consider
this anything to crow about.

Maybe they should offer it to Sarah, it would stand her
in good stead for her own run and certainly would raise
vast amounts of $ for the 2010 races.
