The Arab Times published today what seems to be a serious report titled Fear of black magic forces maids probe. The underlying message of the title and the report is that the housewives are forced to protect themselves against their maids.
According to the report, the housewives pay between 200-500 SR ($53-$133) for women, usually foreign but sometimes unemployed Saudi women, who come and check the maids before they leave the country. The investigators search through the maids belongings to make sure that she didnt take the sponsors photo, hair or clothing, with which she can preform black magic once she returns home. The second stage of the investigation, which the housemaids sometimes do themselves to save costs is a body-search of the maid. The housewives lie to the maids and tell them that the investigator was sent by a government body, as part of the repatriation process.
The report cites Suad Afif, a sociologist and professor at King Abdulaziz University, who states that while the evil eye and black magic do exist, not every maid who works in Saudi Arabia performs it.
On November 2009 a court in Mecca sentenced to death a Lebanese man for witchcraft. During that month, Saudi religious police arrested at least two others for sorcery.
I just check to see if she weighs as much as a duck.
Isn’t this the country Obama held out a open hand to?
LOL!!
It’s not my nose, it’s not my nose!!!!
witchcraft and hexes are very wide spread throughout the Muslim world. It is extremely high amongst women who see sorcery as their only hope of being in control in a society of abusive men.
...aka...”skank-eye”
Not surprising from a culture that is a thousand years behind in civilization.
IMHO, followers of Allah are followers of a demon. Last thing they need to be worried about is black magic by other people.
Oooooo!
I like yours better!!!!
Not a good place to be for those of us with red hair (natural - not bottled) and green eyes!
Yes, their culture is just as advanced as ours don-cha-know...
If the maid is frying an egg and tears a photo of her boss into tiny pieces and tosses them into the frying pan..the boss should worry..
I hear they use very scientific methods...
There are many housekeepers from the Philippines..there is an island of witches and sorcerers called Siquijor. There is no crime on the island, the NPA are afraid to set up shop on the island.

Isn’t one of their “washing” rituals before going for the mid-day a** whiffing to make sure they blow the “jinn” out of their nose?
