Spy chiefs turn on President Obama after seven CIA agents are slaughtered in Afghanistan By David Gardner
excerpt: Barack Obama was accused of double standards yesterday in his treatment of the CIA.
The President paid tribute to secret agents after seven of them were killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. In a statement, he said the CIA had been ‘tested as never before’ and that agents had ‘served on the front lines in directly confronting the dangers of the 21st century’.
He lauded the victims as ‘part of a long line of patriots who have made great sacrifices for their fellow citizens and for our way of life’.
Yet the previous day he had blasted ‘systemic failures’ in the CIA and other US intelligence agencies for failing to prevent the Christmas Day syringe bomb attack.
‘One day the President is pointing the finger and blaming the intelligence services, saying there is a systemic failure,’ said one agency official. ‘Now we are heroes. The fact is that we are doing everything humanly possible to stay on top of the security situation. The deaths of our operatives shows just how involved we are on the ground.'

Thanks for the sad ping...I have said since the election that 0bizmal has done a good thing by waking me and hundreds of thousands of sleeping people up, but to think bringing physical and emotional terroristic harm is a positive in the same light is simply insane.

I've certainly exposed myself to "recognizing" the reality of Islam.... :-) That's something it would pay you to recognize, too.
In addition, you seem to have missed all the Bush Administration's talk about not being able to prevent 100% of the attacks and that we have to be right 100% of the time and that Islam only has to get it right once -- and that's all. That's all it takes.
They've already told us that it's not a matter of "if" but only a matter of "when"...

From al-Qaeda’s point of view, I would think launching an attack inside America under Democrat has certain attractions. An immidiate withdrawl of troops from Af/Pak to protect US homeland. Strike 1. Also the Democrat controlled Congress could pass whatever draconian legislation Obama wanted, all the name of increased “security. Strike 2.

And also, there's a bit of Alzheimer's going on, too, I see...
It seems that so quickly and easily that some FReepers forget that our own conservatives and in the Bush Administration, we were told repeatedly that we have to succeed 100% of the time in order for us to prevail against an attack here in this country (again) and that all the Islamic terrorists have to do is succeed once (and have hundreds of prior failures). All it takes is one time.
And in addition to that, we've been told by the same Administration that it's a certainty that we will be attacked again, on a massive scale, as the prior attack we had on 9/11 and this time it will probably be a nuclear one or biological or a whole series of other kinds of attacks on a massive scale. We've been told that it's not a matter of "if" but simply a matter of "when"...
So, with Alzheimers and deficient reading skills, I can sympathize with the problem you're having... LOL...

The so-called "draconian measures" have already been put into place by the Bush Administration (and prior administrations) in light of what would be necessary for the government to do in the case of a massive attack.
Some of these very kinds of actions that the Bush Administration has put into effect and the documents that have been produced about how to handle the massive population dislocations -- has already prompted many threads on Free Republic decrying it as a way to jail and imprison a lot of conservatives... LOL... (this being said during a Republican Admnistration, no less). Of course, it was mentioned under the title of a "one-world government", too... and so it was said that even our own Republican Administration was heading towards helping set up a one-world governments and that these "relocation facilities" (to help in the case of this kind of massive attack) was really "draconian measures" in order to jail conservatives (instead of a response to a projected attack that the government has been talking about).
The Democrats don't have to add anything to those "draconian measures" because they're already in place from during the Republican Administration. But, they're there for good reason -- and such an attack, like a nuclear attack (simultaneous) on around five U.S. cities -- would kick all those plans into "high gear" and would do whatever was necessary to preserve the on-going nature of the governing of this country.
Of course, like I said -- many threads have already been generated on the subject, especially during the last 8 years of the Bush Administration, on the subject.

Well, I don't think we need Islamists nuking cities to hurt this country. The current Congress and occupant at 1600 PA ave have already greviously wounded it economically, and there is no tourniquet in sight to staunch the bleeding.
Well, from the way I see it, this kind of attack that the government has been preparing for (for a number of years now, including during the Bush Administration and prior) -- would be far worse than the political and economic shenanigans of the liberals and leftists. Islam is out for the complete destruction of Western society, of which no Democrats would survive such a take-over... :-) And the takeover of Islam is well on its way in this country. At this point in time, just from the "demographic picture" of the situation, I don't see any way to stop it, other than all out war with Islam. But, no one seems to have the stomach for that one.

With some it may be Alzheimers in forgetting that the Bush Admnistration has already made it clear to us that we were going to have another major terrorist attack on the scale of 9/11 if not greater. They've already mentioned that it could be nuclear and/or biological and on a massive scale.
And the Bush Administration has already taken measures to insure the continuity of government and also to help the large displaced populations that there would be in setting up places for people to go (which a lot of FReepers "also" complained about before... LOL...).
So, I would say that it's you who does not want to face up to the reality of the situation.
