Seniors and people with disabilities are the next targets. Anyone who doesn’t meet the left’s guidelines for a productive life will be on the list.

I think that a lot of the polling done during Terri's murder was to gauge public reaction to for future murders. As far as a "turning point", it's worth noting that very little has gone the GOP's way since Terri was murdered.
