Rep. Peter King has named the suspected terrorist who attempted to blow up an Amsterdam to Detroit flight today as "Abdul Mudallad.", according to the AP in an article timestamped 7:04 p.m. EST.
King was just on live with CNN talking about the failed terrorist attack, but the CNN anchor cut King off when he started to say the suspect's name and would not allow King to name him. The anchor said CNN was not able to confirm the name.
King is the Ranking Member on the House Homeland Security Committee.
Citing federal officials, MSNBC is also naming the suspect, but uses a more complete version: "Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab".
MSNBC also reports Abdul Mutallab left Lagos, Nigeria yesterday and boarded flight 253 in Amsterdam today.
More from the religion of peace. Until all this passes all Muslims should be banned from the country and there should be a list of terrorist countries who can no longer fly to the USA under any circumstances. Then again that would make sense and OFFEND some people so it’s better me and youand your kids die in a plane crash than offend Muslim Scum
While Mudallah was not a no-fly list, his name was in a database indicating that he had significant terrorist connections, said Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
One law enforcement source said the man claimed to have been instructed by al-Qaida to detonate the plane over U.S. soil.
I hope they beat the shit out of him relentlessly. No doubt Obama will put him on trial in the USA , he’ll wind up on Oprah and sell his book on the View within a years time.

Hes in custody. Good.
Hes Nigerian.
Hes 23.
He claims to be working with al Qaeda.
He was on a U.S. government watch list of people with suspected terrorist ties but not a no-fly list.
He traveled from Lagos to Amsterdam to Detroit. He was traveling one way no return ticket.
Hes being treated for burns in Detroit, thanks to the aforementioned failed attempt. Well, better him than anyone else (though there were a few passengers injured, not seriously). Certainly better than if he had been successful.
His fellow passengers thwarted his attempt. Per MSNBC.com: Two people noticed the attempted attack, and a third person jumped on the man and subdued him, an airline official told NBC News.
He just made flying during the holiday season a LOT more stressful.
Per CNN: ‘sophisticated device & chemical in nature’

Passengers credited with stopping apparent terror attack
And at least one passenger apparently acted heroically. A witness says the passenger, sitting across the man, climbed over passengers and across the aisle to try to restrain the suspect. He appeared to have been burned in the process.
The suspect was also burned, and is being held at a hospital.

The FBI and the Homeland Security Department issued an intelligence note on Nov. 20 about the threat picture for the 2009 holiday season from Thanksgiving through Jan. 1. At the time, intelligence officials said they had no specific information about attack plans by al-Qaida or other terrorist groups. The intelligence note was obtained by The Associated Press.
President Barack Obama was notified of the incident and discussed it with security officials, the White House said. It said he is monitoring the situation and receiving regular updates from his vacation spot in Hawaii.

“I think Quakers are to blame.”
Really? From the sound of the name, I would have thought it was those pesky Lutherans again!
They would look even more stupid and biased than usual if they tried to deny that THIS was an attempted terrorist attack.
I’m assuming he’s not either a Southern Baptist or Catholic?
Wahhabi— Wahhabi. We Must illuminate all Wahhabi in the country or they are going to kill thousands of innocent people —women children. The major at Ft hood was Wahhabi, the plane hijackers were Sunni Wahhabi , all terrorist and
